Hiya! I am on this bit of a journey to seek out temporary fixes on busted equipment until an replacements arrives, and bumped into this forum! While I didn't find any talk about these type of situations (hope I'm not going against the rules that I'm unaware of) So, long story ahort, My AirFit F20 Large Mask's Elbow assembly broke off and can't secure to the rotator. Trying to get a new mask. but I arguments with Insurance and Supplier, stating I'm allowed to have a new mask every 12 months, so set out to Amazon to find bits and ends. In the meantime, cutted out a hole in a dosage cup that the mouth fits perfectly over the hole. with a bit of medical tape, I have a temp solution. (it's not pretty, looks like a 5 grade science fair gone wrong)
With that being said. I'm wondering what have people done when certain bits of their equipment decides to peace out.

Re: MacGyver-ing Busted Equipment
From your description, I can't quite visualize what part is broken. A photo would help.
If it is the elbow that is broken, you can buy one of those on Amazon. The elbow component is the same for all F20 and F30 masks. Or you can buy a mask there too. Or, with a picture, maybe someone here will have exactly what you need.
My practice is to have at least one duplicate of everything, including the CPAP machine itself.

Re: MacGyver-ing Busted Equipment
I learned early on to keep a supply of Krazy Glue and rolls of black plastic electrical tape handy. Also the proper size TORX and phillips head screwdrivers.
When I needed factory replacement parts, I contacted https:// acbio.com and got them.
Oh, and, have numerous backups of everything you use.

That picture looks like an internal part of the elbow. The only place on the F20 mask that I see holes like that is inside the QuietFlow elbow itself. I've never seen that kind of breakage -- did it get stepped on? If it just broke without any abuse, and is not very old, maybe try for a warranty replacement?
Search Amazon or Google for the "Airfit/Airtouch F20 QuietAir Elbow" to find a source. CVS Pharmacy sells ResMed CPAP supplies at some of their stores, but I don't know whether they sell elbows separately.
Maybe a local CPAP supply store could sell you one (probably for too many $$).
