I was able to set up the rsync script. Works pretty well. I think I need to delete some files. It loads about 8500 and goes back several years. I'm assuming I can just delete the data folders with dates?
I don't know what effect deleting the folders would have with your machine or with OSCAR, so I would say to leave well enough alone.

It does index the files every time to check for any changes. I have about 2.5 years of data (3GB) and 10500+ files it checks. From start to finish takes about 00:01:45 (just under 2 minutes). Just enough time to grab a coffee. By the time I get back it's done and ready to import into OSCAR.
Maybe I should stop importing daily and transition to weekly. :)

It is nice to be able to continue using the FlashAir with jumbo frames enabled though. Must have been an issue with FlashPAP not allowing it.

I was able to use the card from my Dreamstation. At first the machine did not like it (so the automatic reformatring did not kick in). I formatted it to FAT 32 and it works. I would like to know what flash memory in a SIM card buys you in a CPAP machine.

I noticed my AS10 has an erase data option (can't remember how it's worded exactly). I'm assuming the AS11 has the same.

Does anyone know if that only erases the AS data, or does it completely reformat the card (i.e., will it mess up my FlashAir settings files)?

Actually found out myself. I used the AS11's erase all data setting. It didn't mess with the FlashAir setting. Will have to see if I continue using this or if jumbo frames prevail and just use a regular SD card.

I was very pleasantly surprised that my AS11 was included in the shipment with my supply replenishment!!

The SD card isn't included. When you remove the cover, the cover "clicks" into place where the SD card goes. So if you insert an SD card, you don't have a cover for it. Very odd design.

Yeah but you have to remember that ResMed is really pushing everyone to use MyAir and SD cards are a thing of the past and not needed.
I am surprised there is still a slot for the SD card. Probably considered a "have to offer" kind of thing for the places in the world where cellular doesn't work. I doubt that anyone even gave it a thought that some sort of cover might be wanted or needed.

At some time in the future I expect models with no SD card slot.
Remember who ResMed REALLY wants to keep happy....and it sure isn't us the end users.
Unless DMEs (and doctors) do an about face and want to take up reading of the SD cards from people and not using the web....the chances of the DME actually wanting to do more work instead of less ...stands about as much chance of happening as a snowball in hell staying unmelted.

I'm with you in being surprised the AS11 has an SD slot. I suspect the 12 series won't.

I connected myAir with the AS11 via Bluetooth. You can adjust some settings there. Was a little tricky setting my pressures (you choose the whole number, then hit a decimal "box" and it brings up another menu to select the decimals in even numbers). Sometimes it wouldn't take the number and I'd have to start over.

I slept with it very briefly and it's quiet. I didn't think I liked the swivel hose connector with the AS10, but using the AS11 I do think the swivel connector was useful.

When going through the settings or about menu (I can't remember if in user or clinician area), I found that my provider is T-mobile 4G. Explains why I only have 1 bar since T-mobile signals are pretty much non-existent in my neighborhood.

I recently received my Airsense 11, and I had a 64 GB SD card sitting around so I put that into the machine. When I put the SD card into an SD reader attached to my MacBook Air M1, it opened a dialog box and complained it could not mount the disk. I tried to read it on a Mac mini and had the same problem. I found that I could mount the disk on a Windows machine, and on a Raspberry Pi, so I knew the data was there. I copied the data over to a flash memory stick and was able to read the data into Oscar from there. I then ordered a 32 GB SD card, put it in my machine, and voila! the Mac could read the card! Looked into it a bit more, and discovered that the 32G card was formatted by the Airsense 11 with FAT32, but the 64G card was formatted with NTFS, and then found out that NTFS was "owned" by Microsoft, and Apple didn't license that format, so the MacBook could not read it. There are drivers you can get/buy to read the NTFS format, but the easiest way is to just use an SD card 32 GB or smaller. So there you go! Don't suppose there is any chance that we could get ResMed to format larger SD cards in a format that is read by both PCs and MACs... ???

ResMeds use FAT32, the S9 and and AS10 have a maximum capacity of 32GB (FAT32)
The AS11 can use up to 256GB (FAT32), perhaps more.

ResMeds do not use (and won't format to) NTFS

When using a 64G SD card in my ResMed Airsense 11, and I inserted said card into a card reader attached to my MacBook Air M1, it threw a dialog box saying it couldn't read the disk. I hit "Ignore" and then opened up the disk utility on my Mac. It reported the following:

Code: Select all

% diskutil info disk4s1
   Device Identifier: disk4s1
   Device Node: /dev/disk4s1

   Media OS Use Only: No
   Media Read-Only: No

   Device Location: External
   Removable Media: Removable
   Media Removal: Software-Activated

   Solid State: Info not available
Note the "Partition Type" (Windows_NTFS) and file system (ExFAT). Both are Windows systems. I did find a way to copy the data from this disk over to a 32 GB SD card which was FAT32 and then I could mount that SD card, and Oscar read the data just fine.

I just received an Airsense 11. I've been using an Airsense 10 for years. Can I just put the SD card I've been using into the 11? Is the data format/layout compatible? Obviously the card is formatted as FAT32, but I'm wondering about the data format.
Thanks for any info.

Data for two different ResMeds cannot co-exist on the same SD Card.

Placing your existing SD Card into your Air 11, will give you a warning prompt, and then overwrite the Air 10 data if you continue.

If you've been using OSCAR, this isn't a problem for data that has been transferred to your computer, it will remain intact on your computer.

If you want the Air 10 data to remain on your SD Card for compliance or other reasons, then you can't use it on your Air 11.

Your options:
  • Get a second SD Card for your Air 11
  • Copy your SD Card to your computer, then use it in your 11. Should you ever need your Air 10 data you can retrieve it.
  • If you know you'll never need your Air 10 data, just use the SD Card in your Air 11
