Oxygen sat during sleep

Post by Architect » Thu May 12, 2022 1:31 pm

I spoke with my sleep clinic about issue, have an appt today. For some very odd reason, I'm aroused or wake up 4 hrs into sleep, every single night. I purchased a Fitbit charge 5 recently, which shows my oxygen sat variation is high during rem sleep stage, rest of time normal. My 02 sat during sleep last night was 92,. My Ahi 0

Guess, what I'm wondering is, how crucial is oxygen sat during sleep? Why is oxygen variation high during rem? and should i request another sleep study using oxygen? Thanks for assistance.

92 is perfectly acceptable.

That's normal. In fact, most people awaken a few times per night.

You left out some important information. How long does it take you to fall back to sleep?

How do you feel the next day? Excess sleepiness? Fatigue?

Hello friends, thanks for info, I spoke with sleep clinic, they've made an appointment for oximetry test with bipap at home. States many factors can cause this.

Feels like I'm suffocating, sometimes I'll have dreams, I'm drowning, trying to swim towards surface of water. Happens 4 hrs into asleep. Afterwards, I sleep wonderful. I'm still active daily, mild fatigue.

But, I'll know once oximetry test complete, with results. I'll share an update. Thanks so much.

Well, not in my case, other then the first two years (adjustment phase), I sleep through the night, without arousal/waking, I slept great. This incident began approx 6 months ago. I was told many factors can cause this, weight gain, medications, etc....

Usually, when I wake up I almost fall instantly back to sleep.

Whatever is going on is a new event. I've been on cpap/bipap for 12 years. 10 years of no issues....
