battery tender is not a charger. its used for long term storage. most of them put out about 1 amp only. what you need is a 10 amp battery charger for a 100 amp battery to keep it fully charged. if you want to know how many watts you take out of your battery every night. you need a good quality battery monitored. Victron smart shunt. they cost about 130 dollars. you can buy it from amazon. if you don't want to spend for it, the only option that works good enough is get a battery state of charge chart off the internet and compare it with your voltmeter readings. it works. I used this method for years, but its not like the Victron. A smart shunt will give you all the information you need like amp volts and how many watts you take out of a battery. I have mine set up with my iPad to see how many watts I take out of my battery during the night. when its time to put the watts back in the battery. I can see what's going on. its a must for anybody that does a lot of boon docking. if you don't have an iPad. its works off of a cell phone.

Okay so I'm going to repeat stuff so I understand it, and also list some products to make sure I've got the right ones:

This is what I use to "charge" right now https://www.amazon.com/Battery-Tender-0 ... B00068XCQU - says it is normal battery tender + charger, but you recommend swapping to something like this https://www.amazon.com/Schumacher-SC133 ... B0789HH4D8 ? This brings my battery back up from 50-70%+ back up to 100% after using it.

Then the shunt https://www.amazon.com/Victron-SmartShu ... B0856PHNLX allows me to monitor my battery level to make sure I keep it within the range (50-70%+) that allows it to maintain the necessary charge over time. Is the app a Victron app or do you have a specific recommendation?

Is it better for me to plug the airmini into the 12v slot or use a plug that connects to the red/black? I feel like the extra step loses more power that way? I think I had done it that way originally to free up the 12v slot for my phone charger.

And then any standard marine battery deep cycle with a capacity that allows me to bring it no less than 50-70% based off my cpap settings/energy used per night and the amount of concurrent nights I will be using it? Or is there something better/more portable I should switch to.

That battery tender you have now is probably the best you can buy. its used to help keep your battery topped off while you have your battery in storage during the off season. Schumacher is good. the charger you want will do the Job for what you want it to do. its a good basic charger. you can do better if you want to spend more. it will charge a standard deep cycle or AGM battery. it won't charge a lithium battery. keep that in mine if you plan to go lithium. I use lithium for most of my camping including my cpap.

you can use a 12 volt plug that connect to your battery. what I would do. cut of the clips that come with it, crimp on ring terminals. this will give you a better connection. NOCO make a nice one. just plug your cpap into it.

you can get the Victron app off the App Store. its free. its easy to use and works nicely.

I have no idea what kind of battery you want to buy. wet cell. I have good luck with the auto zone deep cycles. I have one Vmax battery tank in my camper to power it. excellent battery 100 amp. 5 yrs old. still going strong. that battery is wired to smart shunt. I have two lithiums now. battle born batteries. both have smart shunts connect to them. What nice about lithium. you can bring it in your living space and use it safety. lithium powers my cpap. if you have any problem setting up the smart shunt. let me know. I will help you.

Hi Ray4852
Which lithium battery are you using? My first summer of camping with cpap and I need something reliable.

I use battle born 100 amp lithium. I keep it charged with a Victron blue smart 20 amp battery charger. I have 2. one for my cpap, the other I use for powering my Engel 12 volt fridge. The camper I use a 100 amp Vmax AGM. Don't use lithium in you camper with an standard converter. you could damage your lithium battery while driving down the road charging your battery with your truck charging system. if you want lithium in your camper. use a cheap wet cell with the truck charge system. when you get to the campground. swap out the wet cell, with the lithium. if you plug in with shore power with lithium I don't recommend it because these batteries are not meant to have a trickle charge on them all the time. the batteries are meant to take power out and put back with a portable charger. another draw back with lithium. never charge it below 35 degrees. I keep my batteries in a dry warm cabinet inside the camper. go to there website and get all the info you need. great battery but don't let the price scare you away.

if you don't want to pay this kind of money for a lithium. the market is loaded with cheap china crap now. if you have a problem with battle born. you will get excellent customer service. if you buy the crap from china. who do you go to to get help if you have a problem. I buy American.
