Nasal cannula: highly misinterpreted term, often used , hardly ever understood,
especially by random newbies. Oh, we are having so much fun here.

Yep...I took it as what we normally expect a nasal cannula to be which is for delivering oxygen...not some sort of CPAP mask at all.
But then there are people who think cpap masks are delivering extra O2 which of course it doesn't do.

Since OP hasn't bothered to clarify...oh well.

What is more important is that the aircraft has it's own air exchange system and all the air in the plane is totally replaced every 2-3 minutes, depending on the aircraft. Can you think of anywhere else that would happen? (Yes, only one place - outdoors). New air is brought in from the outside constantly. This make an airplanes environment far safer than a cafe or your own home where the air basically keeps recirculating. Consider this:

Southwest Airlines CEO Gary Kelly stated: "I think the case is very strong that masks don't add much, if anything, in the air cabin environment."
A CDC expert I saw interviewed recently said that masks are STILL necessary because while the air in the plane is replaced every few minutes, it doesn't stop an infected person from spewing virus to people who are sitting in very close proximity to the infected individual (i.e. people in the same row, people immediately in front). And it seems like the fine mist from a CPAP vent will throw the droplets even farther. FAA approved or not, the ADA does not allow you to cause harm to others--that's not a reasonable accommodation.

The CEO of Southwest Airlines is not an authority on virus transmission.

Again, very sorry for your situation, but you can't simply put others at risk because of it regardless of changing laws, your rights, and your desire to be in Ireland. Everyone else has rights as well. Perhaps you can find a therapist to help deal with the feelings criticism brings on - by putting your story out here in 'public' you can't help but acquire unpleasant feedback, but we all have to live with some of that once we become adults and it's our place to learn how to handle it unless you want to be treated as a child.

You can get to Ireland. It’s lovely and worth the trip. However, you need to play by the rules of the airlines and FAA. Same responses to all 3 posts.
