Availability of ResMed CPAP machines
Does anyone know how difficult it is for Durable Medical Suppliers to get ResMed CPAP machines for Medicare patients? Just by looking on the internet at offerings of ResMed machines, it appears that the prices have greatly inflated, probably due to the Phillips recall and the general inflation that is currently occuring for just about all items.

Re: Availability of ResMed CPAP machines
Not to mention, ResMed are based in Australia and many machines are likely sitting on container ships in ports waiting to be unloaded. Or otherwise in transit.
Apparently DME suppliers have highest priority for the limited number of machines that manage to show up.
As a single data point, my local DME promised me an "in stock" machine on October 6 -- still waiting.

Re: Availability of ResMed CPAP machines
Resmed's global HQ is in San Diego. It has manufacturing sites in Australia, Singapore, France and the US. My two AirCurve machines are made/assembled(?) in Singapore. I'm not sure if specific machines are made in separate locations or if those machines are actually assembled from components made in a variety of countries. Resmed do say that some of their components are made in China so I suspect that this is the case. On top of that Resmed also make ventilators and obviously these have been important for the last couple of years. Add to that their masks and other accessories, their global approach is understandable. Basing themselves in the US, to capture a huge market driven by the insurance and health industries makes a lot of sense.randye80 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 14, 2022 9:54 amNot to mention, ResMed are based in Australia and many machines are likely sitting on container ships in ports waiting to be unloaded.
