Looking for help with OSCAR data, am I doing something wrong?
Been using the machine for 3 weeks now and just recently changed from a F&P Simplex to a Resmed F30i. Was hoping it would help with leaks and but it always seems like the pressure is off the charts and blowing me up. My sleep studies were not the greatest (did 3 and all were a nightmare and barely got any sleep). Any help would be appreciated as I don't know what I am doing wrong. (Or is this normal???)

Re: Looking for help with OSCAR data, am I doing something wrong?
So....massive, massive leaks for one thing. Something is very wrong somewhere to have this much leak.
Your pressures seem to be high because they are rather high to start with and then the machine goes higher trying to fight various apneas.
How were these pressure settings determined? Did you have a sleep study in a lab with this type of machine to help figure out ideal pressures?
What is your official diagnosis? Do you have a copy of your sleep study or studies if you have had more than one? If not...get it/them.
In your other post you mentioned having an "AutoSet" machine but this model machine is NOT an AutoSet at all.
It's a model designed for people who have a problems with central apneas and/or obstructive apneas.

Re: Looking for help with OSCAR data, am I doing something wrong?
Thank you for the reply. Yes...MASSIVE LEAKS.
In the other thread I posted what is listed in the top of the left column on the OSCAR report (under AHI score) you see here: Aircurve 10. ASVAuto, MinEPAP 11, Max IPAP 29.0 PS 0.0-14.0
I have had 3 tests and have all 3 reports...might as well be written in another language. Says have I have OSA and CSA. To be honest, I don't think any of my 3 tests hold much water other than to say I have these conditions. I was super uncomfortable each time and was completely out of my element (as most are with these things). Had I done a home study I am sure the results would have been a bit different. Either way...each time I slept less than 3 hours total and told them I was leaving at 4am (when I usually get up now) They wanted me to stay until 6am but I just couldn't imagine sleeping after I get up a 4am.
If there is something in particular you want me to post from the report, let me know. But, honestly I don't think this data is correct.
For comparison, here is a night with the other F&P Simplus mask:

Re: Looking for help with OSCAR data, am I doing something wrong?
Things have improved here a bit. I tried moving to the Resmed F30i mask and thought I was doing better. My beard was still causing all kinds of leaks so I attempted to use the P30i Pillows. They arrived on Christmas Eve and it was the best gift. My leak issues have diminished to where it's negligible. The pillows are comfortable and I have learned the proper way to keep my mouth shut without a chin strap. I am averaging just over 7 hours a night usage and I think I am starting to feel a bit better as a result. I no longer dread going to sleep for "fear of the mask". I am going to try the N30i cushion to see if I like that better than the pillows then I will let my provider know what to send going forward.
To anyone who is starting out, don't give up. YOU need to do a lot of the work when it comes to YOUR therapy. You need to take it upon yourself to try other masks and options. Yes, I had to lay it out of pocket, but I am glad I did as I now have a good solution for my needs as a result. Lots of great info here, so read!

Hi - you've made optimistic statements, which sound good, but why not post new Oscar results so we can see what's what and compare to older ones.

I use the same method most use, just keeping your tongue pressed up to your front teeth and up. I do sometimes open my mouth but that only happens if I wind up on my back.Miss Emerita wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 12:04 amThat’s a dramatic change! How are you keeping your mouth closed?

Anyone looking for a Resmed F30i Standard frame, Med Cushion. New / sealed in the bag. I bought this one and wound up getting one covered under my insurance. Just want to get back what I paid. $80

You'll be more likely to find a buyer if you start a new thread for this with "For Sale: [item] as the thread title.
