We will be doing a week in a camper van this summer. I have to fly to get to the location to start the camping trip, so I’m limited to a 155Wh power bank (with airline approval). I’m going to do some testing at home with my machines before the trip, but thought I’d ask in case anyone already experience with this: which of these options would consume less power?
- Airsense 10 with DC adapter
- Dreamstation Go plugged into AC (using inverter built into the power bank)
For either option I’ll be doing no humidification or heat and machines in the lowest power consumption mode (i.e. airplane mode on the Airsense).
Lowest Power Consumption Option
Re: Lowest Power Consumption Option
I'm wondering why AC?
I'm thinking that after the home testing you will have your answer.

Re: Lowest Power Consumption Option
Use a KillaWatt device to measure the power usage.
We bought ours at Harbor Freight.

Re: Lowest Power Consumption Option
Unfortunately there’s no DC adapter for the Dreamstation Go. The “block” part of the AC power supply is built into the unit. Great for traveling when there’s electricity supply available, but always requires an inverter if using a battery. There’s a unit-specific battery for it, but it’s much more expensive and less handy for non-CPAP use than a power bank.I'm wondering why AC?

Somebody over there needs to bone up on the definition of a "travel" machine.

Flying to a camper van. Rental perhaps? Doesn't it come with a house battery? PV panels to keep it charged?

I’ll admit to being charmed by the size and portability without fully thinking it through. Still has been nice for reducing space when traveling.Too many deal breakers for me.
It is an overseas rental. Unfortunately this model doesn’t have solar panels and the house/aux/leisure battery is fairly small - mostly for operating the small refrigerator in the van. There is an outlet but it only operates when the van is plugged in to electricity, which could be hit or miss based on where we camp.Flying to a camper van. Rental perhaps?
