Resmed Airsense 11 issues

Post by siestagirl » Mon Dec 27, 2021 11:47 am

Hi I am new here. I have been using oxygen for many years. I live at altitude above 8500 and my O2 gets very low at night. I have just started using CPAP also. I have a ResMed Airsense 11 Autoset. Very easy to use. No problems with my mask etc. Started using it full night right away. HOWEVER, I was prescribed heated tubing and none is made that can be used with the Airsense 11 with an O2 adapter. I have checked with ResMed. Also, after a night with power outage all night, I researched a battery back up for the Airsense 11 and discovered those used with other CPAPS such as the AirSense 10 cannot be used with the 11. Again checked with ResMed. There is some speculation that the battery for the AirSense 10 mini would be able to be used with modification.
My final issue is that my 02 which I can keep above 87 just using my concentrator and cannula, falls to the low 80s when my O2 concentrator is hooked up to my CPAP. Does anyone else use or know about these issues with the AirSense 11? Than k you.

Can't help with the oxygen issue, but you don't need a travel battery, apparently, but an uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) that your device can be plugged int at home. Widely available for not a lot of money, like on Amazon. You only need one with enough power for your device, so the smallest will probably be enough.

Some full face masks have ports on them for bleeding in oxygen. Otherwise you can use a standard oxygen adapter, however instead of hooking it up next to the cpap, you'd hook it up on the mask end of the hose, it's not quite as neat, but it works just as well.

You might need a higher O2 flow during the night. Also, make sure your concentrator is set to continuous, not demand/pulse mode, if it's on demand, it won't supply any O2 when on the CPAP.
