Yes the foam is such a cheap material that Im gonna say that the So Clean degraded it and it started to get weaker which the caused it to get caught up in the little fan of the dehumidifier.See it in the water of the dehumidifier helped me catch it.

For anyone else reading this, there is no 'dehumidifier' in a cpap.

The fan is the blower that creates the airflow to keep your breathing working.

I get these debris particles too. I also get a slick on the surface of the water, almost like oil, but white.

Unfortunately I couldn't see the fan insulation pics. Would it be possible to repost them?

Thanks :)

I also got this stuff. It was a little at first, this morning was a lot. So I've read this blog and took the machine apart. Yes it was the green foam sponge next to the air blower moter
Did you reach out to ResMed and see what it is for and is there a replacement ?
Thanks

Are you another So(not)clean user?
Stop that! (Soclean, of course)
If you call Resmed, they will know you ABUSED your machine.
Disassembly(tampering) by end user automatically voids any warranty.
As does injection of ozone into the works.

I have been in contact with SoClean about the green foam in my water chamber. They acted so surprised. It wasn't until I did more research that I found out that most SoClean users have or will have this problem. SoClean acted dumb like they never heard of this issue before and played me like a fool. They asked me to send photos which I did and never heard back from them...what a surprise.
I have started a Class Action lawsuit against Soclean through Morgan & Morgan. If anybody wants to be included in the lawsuit please contact me.

I wish you luck with your law suit. This is why no CPAP manufacturer has ever recommended any ozone cleaning devices.

Class action lawsuits are too often used solely to enrich attorneys.
I already know--once bitten, twice shy.

Sue Caption Kirk for recommending it to you. Ozone turns the foam into a sticky mush.

A couple of days ago I began to notice this in my humidifier as well. I was concerned it was mold because I also seem to have trouble with the humidifier consistently delivering humidified air through the night and I will have to wake to increase humidity to keep from drying out. I’ve tried auto & manual. It’s either feast or famine. Sometimes when it’s feast it bubbles into the mask. I’m really frustrated because I did not have these problems with my Phillips before it was recalled.

Has resmed offered any options to replace the foam?

I did just buy new filters & they sent me a survey & requested feedback so I uploaded my photos of the particles in the humidifier & described the problem that they have & need to address & resolve

RESPIRONICS is the comany with the foam problem--and they are milking it!!!
Probably in cahoots with the class action ambulance chasers, for a piece of the loot.
Resmed got it right the first time. Please do not confuse the two companies.

The foam in Resmeds doesn't degrade unless you're using ozone devices, and if you're using ozone, you've voided your warranty.

What are the long strands in the image? Hair?
The particles "could" be dandruff . . . (Shampoo-hint, hint)
If you still have the Soclean, put it in an Amazon box, and leave it on your porch.
I encourage you to smash it, and add rocks before putting it in the box.
