day 3 with new hose...5 hours: 1.4 total AHI/hr...1 central/hr

so getting best numbers I've ever gotten....less groggy/no headache....still a bit brain fogged but maybe that will clear with time or is a thyroid issue I need to address

but really encouraged that it appears it was a small leak/bad seal on an old hose rather than an altitude issue

finally got access to my OSCAR data.....

things I noticed.....Clear Airway apnea skyrockets overnight in August, one week after moving to altitude..from 2/hour to 20/hour....interesting that there was a week of under 4/hour at altitude before it elevated suddenly.

Couple of things I could think of....maybe the hose seal failed then, or maybe I was only using a few hours a night when i first moved and the central apneas/clear airway apneas seem to be heavily bunched after 5-6 hours of sleep. So maybe the problem wasn't showing up yet because I wasn't using it long enough. I'll have to dive into the data more.

The clear airway apnea seem REALLY clustered in the least couple hours of sleep. I would say maybe as much as 60-70% happening in hours 6-7....

In June I went with my daughter to Albuquerque, NM to look for a place to live--she moved there to do her pediatric medical residency at UNM. We stayed at an AirBnB fairly high up the mountain--at the edge of "civilization", so I'm guessing around 6000' elevation. I noticed right away that I was short of breath and had increased pulse rate with minimal exertion but (according to my Apple Watch which isn't entirely reliable) my blood oxygen levels were HIGHER than they normally are (I tend to be on the low side because of heart and lung issues) and my AHI's were fine.

I felt fine despite the mild shortness of breath and higher pulse rate. I wasn't quite brave enough to go up the tramway to an even higher elevation, but all was well at that level.
