Resmed Aircurve V10 Auto Stopped Working

Post by Holden4th » Mon Nov 22, 2021 1:07 am

This happened last night and all I did at the time was plug in my backup which is the S9 version. I was thinking that it could be the power brick but on arriving home I see that's got a green light and my V10 turns on.

Before I buy a replacement, is there a reset switch somewhere that will send the machine back to default settings? Quite simply, the blower doesn't turn on when I press the top button yet there is no smell that hints at a blown circuit. Any advice here would be appreciated. I'm so glad that I decided to invest in the S9 as a backup machine.

OK. looks like its the blower which won't switch on. The machine does have power and the display lights up. I haven't detected any burning smell so I guess it's a small electronic component that's failed. I'll try and get it repaired but for now I need a replacement machine.

Second Wind has both the S9 and the Aircurve as used options. My back up machine is the S9 and is working well at the moment. Should I get another one of those or should I go for the Aircurve S10 Vauto. There is a significant difference in price but I'm not sure that there is a big difference in performance. I also have the option of buying new from SW and wonder if that's the best course of action. While I'm mentally quibbling about the money the bottom line is that my health comes first.

Second Wind Prices

S9 VPAP Auto used $US 1000
Aircurve S10 Vauto used $US 1280
Aircurve S10 Vauto NEW $US 1800

I can't find an 'open box' S9 but I suppose that's not surprising.

So which of the three should I go for. I can afford it but it won't be pleasant forking out the cash.

There's no functional difference in the S9 VPAP Auto and the Aircurve 10 (there's no S, the "S" was replaced with "Aircurve") VAuto.

Secondwind uses the term "S10" on all their AirSense/AirCurve 10 models as part of the product model name.
Why they decided to use an incorrect term is beyond me but what Holden is reporting is how secondwind lists their machines.
So I think we probably need to place the blame here on secondwind for not being correct.

Even with their private emails to me which I was considering selling them the AirSense 10 AutoSet for Her....they referred to it as the S10. Idiots.

I've bitten the bullet and ordered another 'gently used' machine from Second Wind. The price has gone up. Four years ago it was about $AUS1100, this one has cost me $AUS1600. I'm looking for an Australian repairer for my current machine. Do any Aussies on here have a source. I suspect that it might be a reasonably easy (but not necessarily cheap) fix.

I had my S9 repaired under warranty a couple of years ago - I'll see if I still have any paperwork and let you know tomorrow. (This was in WA but I imagine the repairer has offices interstate as well).

I'm afraid I've mislaid that particular paperwork. But from memory the repair was carried out by ElectroMedical Group in Belmont WA. https://emedgroup.com.au/

I didn't deal with them direct but the repair came back fairly quickly. They repaired a malfunctioning humidifier and also replaced the blower "just in case". I was quite pleased with the service.

That's very helpful thank you. My brother lives in WA so I'll send it over to him. This won't be a warranty job but if the repair price is OK I'll run with it.
