eXcite device

Post by KTinTexas » Wed Oct 27, 2021 8:47 pm

I just saw an ad for the eXcite device that trains your tongue and is used during the day. I wonder if anyone has experience with it? I've been using the CPAP machine for several years now and still have problems with throwing off the mask at night. I wonder if it would be a good alternative. I was diagnosed with mild to moderate sleep apnea and I understand the device is meant for people with that level of apnea.

Sounds like a display in the patent/quack medicine museum.
I guarantee all it will do is lighten your wallet.

There's some data on this device--see site for Excite OSA. It strengthens the tongue and surrounding area enough to reduce snoring and apneas for most people in the trials by a significant amount. I'm going to try it, with the hope that it might help with the persistent tongue blockage that a DISE showed. Maybe it can address the underlying UARS that keeps me exhausted and waking often despite great AHI on biPap. I'll still use the biPap, but maybe this will make me less tired. Will let folks know if it helps--for those who are interested.
