Been using for 2 days. It feels like something's in my throat, I think maybe maybe phlegm. I keep trying to swallow to no avail (seems hard). Can't seem to cough it up beforehand.
It was bearable without my CPAP. But now it is impossible to fall asleep because it constantly feels I need to swallow but I can't rid of it.
Any tips?

Google "globus hystericus" and see if it fits - fairly common - which is not to say you have it, but look into it along with other things.

Welcome, and congratulations on starting your PAP treatment!
Do you have phlegm in your throat during the day too? Or just at night with your mask and machine?
You might try increasing and decreasing your humidity settings to see whether a change in one direction or another helps.

I think you should talk to your doctor about this. I have the same thing... a post nasal drip. It's all allergy (for me). I use Flonase before bed and take Zyrtec too. A nasal rinse before bed also helps.AFAFAF wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 11:26 pmBeen using for 2 days. It feels like something's in my throat, I think maybe maybe phlegm. What machine do you use? And your mask?
Don't give up. It may take a little while to sort this out.

A,
I use a nasal wash called Nasopure you can find on Amazon. Also, and I think this would work even better for what you have, is a spray called XClear also sold on Amazon. It breaks up mucus better than anything I've tried. I use it one hour before I go to bed, and then again 15 minutes before I go to bed to allow it time to work. It can be used as much as needed. Here's a link.

How is your stomach doing? This could actually be a bit of reflux that your are having.
This can come up into you esophagus and may feel like it's coming from above but it is not...
Perhaps try a PPI or something to neutralize the acid in you stomach.
It would be a quick test to find out..

I might suspect GERD. (Gastroesophageal reflux)
You would have had it all along, but some people think that positive air pressure
makes it more noticeable, if not a bit worse.
Note: "Some people" are not necessarily right--but it's still possible.
I take a prescription PPI (pantoprazole), which helps.
Losing weight might help even more;
but too many of us have learned that is way easier said than done.

Could easily be a combination of reflux and allergy.
