Resvent ibreeze

Post by redraven » Fri Oct 22, 2021 8:56 pm

Hi everyone. I was just diagnosed and was on a wait list for a machine. After several weeks I get a call saying they had a resvent ibreeze available, I said after doing my research I want a resmed. They said it could be weeks, I said fine I’ve lived years without and if I have to live years with a cpap I want one with a proven record. Again days go by and I get a call that they had a cpap available with a heated hose as prescribed by sleep center. I has assumed I was getting the resmed which I requested. Well, I get the resvent I breeze which I didn’t want. Am I making a mountain out of a molehill and start using this, it’s sitting in its box and nothing has been used. I’m so confused. Any advice will be appreciated.

I wouldn't accept it myself.
It's not compatible with OSCAR for one thing.
Another thing it isn't what you told them you want.

Call up your insurance company and ask for a list of DMEs in your area that are in your network...and then start calling to see if anyone has what you want.

welcome to the zoo!

no, this is YOUR health and you are quite right to hold out for the resmed.

do you have to go through insurance or are you lucky enough to pay out of pocket?

I wouldn't accept it. In fact I'd call them up and tear them a new one for the bait and switch attempt.

BTW.....they might try to tell you that your sleep center doctor "prescribed" the machine but it is EXTREMELY rare for any doctor to specify a brand. Usually prescriptions are worded generically...
like "cpap with heated humidifier and/or heated hose"..that sort of thing unless someone is getting a really high end specialty machine that does some very unique functions.

For dirty dealers, this one takes the cake!
Could they be part of a national chain?
Like lindon'tcare, or crapria?
We are all anonymous here--I would spill my guts, for the common good.

Thank you all, I tried calling today to return the machine. I got a message saying long wait, better to email. I emailed basically what I told you on Friday. I haven’t heard back but now I know I’m on the right track to get the machine I wanted. I’m dealing with Rotech

If you take it back do that in person. I wouldn't do the phone or email, I'd pack it up and do a face to face.

Isn't Rotech online only?

Perseverance prevailed !!! The Resvent was shipped from Florida, I am in Montana. There were no machines available in the area. I told them I would wait for a Resmed like I said before. I got a call saying someone turned in a barely used Resmed Airsense 10 near me with only 9 hours on the machine. So this is now my machine, I practiced last night. I made it to 3 a.m. lol Tonight will be better. Thank you all for the advice. I'll continue to learn from this forum.
