Oscar Technical Question
Oscar Technical Question
I just tried to download last night's data to Oscar. I know I used the machine (Devilbiss/Intellipap) for five hours last night (waking once) and the Quick View option on the machine tells me so. But Oscar only shows data for the first sleep segment. I probably turned the machine off and turned it on again. But I can't understand why either the SD card or Oscar failed to pick up the second sleep segment. I've tried twice to no avail. I'm really interested in seeing the second sleep segment, because I woke with some signs of having an apnea event - dry mouth/choking sensation - and the machine was fairly blowing too. Any idea what's going on?

Re: Oscar Technical Question
I would like to look at your SD card to see if we can locate the problem. Please make a zip file of the entire card, and upload it to my Dropbox folder. Please include your forum name in the zip file name so we know who the file is from.MMcG wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 4:57 amI just tried to download last night's data to Oscar. Re: Oscar Technical Question
Thanks but it appears to have sorted itself. All yesterday's data appeared when I re-loaded the SD card today. But half of last night's data is missing again. I reckon what's happening is that, because I may have turned the machine off for a couple of minutes in the early hours of the morning, either the data for the second sleep segment isn't uploading to the SD Card until the next day or else or OSCAR is doing something similar. Regardless, it's working fine, albeit 24 hours in arrears.BlueDragon wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 5:50 amI would like to look at your SD card to see if we can locate the problem. Re: Oscar Technical Question
It would still be useful for me to see your SD card so that I understand exactly what is happening. I have very few sample files from your machine. You may be right about the data not all being written out until end of day.

Re: Oscar Technical Question
I think I managed to create a Zip File and upload the data to your dropbox (I'm not the most tech savvy and lack of sleep hasn't helped!). There's a little over two weeks data there. The earlier stuff (about four weeks) was on a different machine. The supplier changed it because of some technical issues.BlueDragon wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 10:07 amIt would still be useful for me to see your SD card so that I understand exactly what is happening. Sorry, that file was empty. You can use OSCAR to create a zip file for you. With your SD card in your computer, start OSCAR and select Help / Troubleshooting / Create zip of CPAP data card.

Just tried. The ZIP file is too large (more than double the limit). Maybe I should delete some of it and try again?MMcG wrote: ↑Mon Oct 25, 2021 1:32 amOK, I'll try again.BlueDragon wrote: ↑Sun Oct 24, 2021 10:30 amSorry, that file was empty. Re: Oscar Technical Question
Something weird going on. I did exactly as you suggested. Instead of compressing it, the ZIP option on OSCAR enlarged the file to 4.6 GB. There is actually only about 19 MB of Devilbiss data on the the SD card. If I just copy the data on the card as it is, maybe you will be able to read it. I'll try anyway.MMcG wrote: ↑Mon Oct 25, 2021 1:49 amJust tried. The ZIP file is too large (more than double the limit). MMcG- I have your files and can work with them. It will be several days before I get back to you as we are in the midst of remodeling our bathroom starting today.

Re: Oscar Technical Question
That's great! It's why you have a CPAP machine.
Yes, I confirmed the problem is that the session record hasn't been written yet.
It is possible that other data is present and that I could "fake" a session for that last data. I'm not sure how much data is available after the last session is recorded. The loader was coded to ignore data after the last session because key session data was missing. Even if some data was available after the last recorded session, it might not be complete.
If we had a lot of DV6 users who were experiencing this issue we could look into alternative approaches. But with Drive/Medical/DeVilbiss getting out of the CPAP business in December, I don't expect to see much future demand.

Re: Oscar Technical Question
Yes, I heard that they announced their withdrawal from the CPAP market a few weeks ago. Doesn't really bother me, because I have no long term commitment to Devilbiss anyway. Regardless, all the data for each night can be downloaded 24 hours later. So it's not really a problem.BlueDragon wrote: ↑Mon Oct 25, 2021 10:39 amThat's great! It's why you have a CPAP machine.
