If you have a lot of nasal congestion, you might play around with the humidity. For some people, more helps with congestion; for others less is better.

Also, you might ask your allergist about starting to use some medications to reduce the post-nasal drip, which is a special drag when you're using PAP. For me, I get a lot of help with symptoms using Flonase spray (over the counter) and Azalastine spray and Montelukast pills (= Singulair), which are both prescription drubs.

EPR reduces the pressure when you exhale. By the same token, it increases pressure when you inhale, giving you a little boost. If your flow limitations are lower down in your airway -- not in your nose -- the little boost might help you breathe in more smoothly. Just a thought.

ive been on Singulair for a year or two (only 5 months on cpap) and I've been using OTC Flonase for a while to, but it hasn't done much good. Allergist prescribed a prescription version, xhance or something like that but it hasn't come in yet. so far nothing OTC has helped, I've used every OTC allergy med I know of, he suggested xyxol or something like that which I hadn't heard of so. I started that last Saturday so it may do something. When I did my allergy testing I was allergic to like 3 things, 2 random molds and some acacia tree? I have a strong feeling im going to need to go to an ENT and get a CT, possibly surgery.

gonna post a followup here, in hopes it may give others some insight in the future if they see it.

I had tons of trouble after a couple of days on APAP and kept fiddling with settings and finally went to my previous prescribe settings and was still having a TON of issues. I was more "congested" than even normal starting this past Sunday night; and yesterday when speaking with the ENT I had been working with they asked me to use some Afrin (which I had never used before) and later today im going to have a CT to see what is going on / if I need surgery, but with that being said, the Afrin cleared up so much, I don't think I've ever been able to breathe that much through my nose in my life and last night I slept like a baby.

my AHI was super high the previous days and on all of those days my "flow limitations" were crazy spiking everywhere averaging probably .25 throughout the night and spiking up to .75 and 1 many times. last night, it was virtually nonexistent with just a few spikes up to .5. my CAs in Oscar were (on the bad days) reading like 60-75 and Hyopneas 20-30, still a very low OSA (about .5 on average for me with CPAP) but last night it was back to what I had been experiencing previously before all this went to hell. 0 OSA's, 18 CA's (although 12 of those are VERY obvious false positives), and 4 hypopnea events. HUGE improvements.

again just sharing in case somebody else may see it and find it helpful, it looks like at least some, if not a large percentage, of my issues maybe sinus related. I had already started seeing an ENT when I told them all the trouble I was having this week they immediately told me to come in and get a CT to see what is going on.

Afrin is addictive, Flonase is much more user-friendly and many people here find it works.

I've been on a prescription Flonase for a few weeks (Xhance) and it was doing nothing. They told me use it only 3 days, and im going to get the CT today so I can find a more permanent solution, it was mostly old advised because I was not sleeping (3-4 hours max of actual sleep) for several days. basically an "emergency fix" so I didn't lose my mind lol

Afrin is addictive,
Not so much if you only use it at night.

Impressive change with the Afrin, which is a nice clue for further diagnosis. Let us know what happens after the CT scan, would you?

Slightly (not bad) deviated septum. One of my turbinate is enlarged (the one on the side that has A larger opening caused by the deviation). Polyps in my sinuses (the ones in my cheeks). And some current fluid build up in there also.

I had started with the allergist (at the alllergy/ENT offices directions) and now they are referring me to the ENT. The dr yesterday said most likely will need the balloon sinuplasty to open up some airways and possibly “shave the enlarged turbinate”. They also gave me a steroid pack to try and get rid of the fluid buildup in my sinuses.

So there’s some physical stuff wrong for sure.

Thanks for the update. Next visit to the doc you might ask which of these conditions is one that Afrin would help. In other words, do any of these conditions explain why Afrin was so helpful? Best of luck pursuing these new options.
