It doesn't matter if you take it camping or not. If you plan to plug the machine directly into the AC slots on the pack you'll only get half the run time because it'll be using its built-in inverter - maybe just one night. If you want to maximize the number of nights you can sleep you'll need to use the DC output from the pack and run it through the Resmed converter.

Re: CPAP BATTERIES
This thing looks good on paper. It's missing one wish list feature that I wouldn't have cared about prior to the Philips recall and my switch to Resmed - no 24 volt output. The BPS Freedom V2 has auto sensing 12 or 24 volt output which means no ridiculously bulky 24v adapter to tote around. And it charges with the Airsense or System One power supply, in about 2 hours.
Wonder if one could rig up an adapter of some kind to combine those 2 oddball 12v outputs, into one 24v output, and connect up a Resmed Airsense to this directly? That would be ideal.
If I were looking to buy one of these I think the 300 Wh unit would be my pick. Also BPS makes a cigarette lighter adapter that plugs into their USB-C PD port on their Freedom V2 battery that might work for the version of this thing that has no cigarette lighter adapter.

Re: CPAP BATTERIES
Do you know the cost of having power to cpap in the middle of the night when a tree limb has fallen and taken out a power line???
Or whatever the cause of the outage....
Priceless
So you have a choice...."priceless" uninterrupted sleep with cpap
Or no cpap sleep.
Which one ultimately ends up "costing" you more?
Oh...3rd choice...use the foamgate Respironics machine with battery and since it doesn't need a converter....no extra cost.
You always have options....but sometimes (most of the times) those options cost something one way or another.
You have to weigh the risks vs rewards thing.....just like everything in life.
Decisions, decisions, decisions.

Re: CPAP BATTERIES
I just bought the Freedom battery for my RemMed Airsense 10. Worked great. With the humidifier and heated hose off, I used it for nine hours and had 30% remaining. I charged it during the day.

This Freedom v2 battery pack also has a 12v cigarette lighter adapter you can plug in to the USB C outlet - item # MPR-V2. Could be handy - allows using anything powered by one of these auto style 12v plugs.

Re: CPAP BATTERIES
My old Devillbiss Auto runs off 12 volt--can even plug into
the car's dashboard power outlet, otherwise called "cigarette lighter".
Hmmm, no recall, lower price, compact.
Who needs respironics, anyway?

Re: CPAP BATTERIES
Philips respironics run on 12 volts. Any car or marine deep cycle battery will work. I go camping once a year by boat to an island and bring an extra fresh charged deep cycle marine battery and it lasts me 4 days easy..

Car starting batteries are not good because they're NOT designed for long discharge, they're designed for big bursts of power and to be recharged immediately.zoophaugus wrote: ↑Thu Nov 11, 2021 8:25 pmPhilips respironics run on 12 volts. Marine batteries of *any* sort are not good because they're heavier and more expensive because they're designed to take the pounding they suffer on *boats*.
What you want is a mobility scooter deep cycle battery, not a 'marine' deep cycle battery.

Re: CPAP BATTERIES
Not exactly. There are "Car Starting batteries" that are just fine for this type of application. A typical flooded lead acid car starting battery is poor choice. An AGM car starting battery that is designed to handle 80% depth of discharge is a car starting battery that would be just fine. Costly and heavy but totally fine.

Re: CPAP BATTERIES
Question....how many people out there actually know what kind of car battery they might be using???
Another question....how many people when they need to buy a car battery base their decision solely on price???
Another question...how many people (since most people don't understand batteries) wanting to power a cpap machine will knee jerk reaction purchase the cheapest they can find??
As an owner of some sort of truck for 20 plus years....I know that there are different batteries out there but as a general rule most people don't put the extra thought into a battery purchase decision.
I have a F350 super duty truck. It requires 2 batteries and those puppies are NOT cheap at all but in all honesty I have no idea what "kind" of battery they actually are.
When we give answers here we try to cover "what most people understand" or "what most people will purchase if they buy a car battery for use in their car". Most people are going to be buying the cheapest battery they can find which I assume would be a lead acid battery....and it obviously is not the best choice for powering a cpap long term and also power the car.
I know a little bit about batteries but I am still in the "most people" category. I admit it.
I would be one of those people who someone should just tell me "don't go buying a car starting battery to power your cpap because you will kill it earlier than you would like" or even "it won't last nearly as long as you would want even if only used to power the cpap"...I would understand that.

No idea. But if they didn't know before that there is more than one type, they do now.
Again - no idea. 50%? Not me.
Again - no idea. And again, Not me

Re-iterated here:
"An AGM car starting battery that is designed to handle 80% depth of discharge is a car starting battery that would be just fine. Costly and heavy but totally fine."
and re-stated here:
- Totally fine for the application.
- Designed to spec for such use case.
- Will not be ruined by deep discharge.
- Designed to handle 80% depth of discharge.
