Some weeks I CAN, and SOME weeks I can't

Post by CWM84 » Fri Oct 15, 2021 4:00 pm

Hi Ya'll, LTNS!

I am wondering if anybody else on this message board has this problem:

there are weeks that I can get up as soon as the alarm goes off ( The last 2 days I've been able to )

Then there's weeks that I go into this, the alarm goes off and I roll over and doze back off for 15 min.

The last 2 days I've been going to bed at 9:30 or 9:45, And I got up at 6:50 yesterday. And then for this morning, I went a little further back with the alarm time to 6:45.

And as soon as the alarm went off this morning, I was wide awake and took my mask off and got up.

Normally I am in bed by 10 and up by 7:30. And just about ALWAYS roll back over and doze back off. ( with my mask on of course)

I don't understand?

Thanks,
Chris

Hi Ya'll, LTNS!
1. i don't use an alarm any more. (i just put this in there to make others jealous!)

2. we don't sleep the same way every night.

2a. having said that, it's always best to keep to the same sleep routine every night.
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

I am kind of loving this getting up early :)

I've been keeping my 10 to 7 for the last couple of months now.

And I also DON'T nap during the day.

In my opinion it probably depends on which stage of your sleep cycle you're in when your alarm goes off.
If you're in the "wrong" stage, you won't feel rested.

now, me, i'm just the opposite. i don't like it when i wake up after 6 or 7 hours. i spent SUCH a long time getting dreadfully early in the morning. now in my old age i want to sleep late!

Interesting.. But I have no control over what cycle I am in though?

I guess going to bed at 9:30 or 9:45 and getting up, I am going to push it back a little further tomorrow to 6:30.

I am *TRYING* to make myself a morning person.

I feel like I can get a lot more done during the day if I get up earlier!

I have been trying that little trick for over 60 years now.
No success.
I quit trying a while back.
Just not in my DNA I guess.

But sometimes as little as 30 minutes more sleep can greatly impact how we feel during the day.
