It's OK, we believe you and you don't have to justify yourself to people who deliberately bait and trash for effect. Sorry I can't help with tech stuff tho', but know that Resmed is better - personal experience apart from anything else.
Thank you.
I heard back from both the repair center and Respironics service.
Neither can supply parts or do repairs.

I will take you advice for ResMed, and thank you for giving that advice.

Enjoying the attention you are getting here?
Actually, I'm finding some of it to be a pain in the ass.
Your comment above, is an example.
I'm not here for attention... I'm here hoping to find somebody who has solved a similar problem.

Your troll comment contributes absolutely nothing to this post.
You made an emphatic statement of preference for two ResMed devices and "no other choice"

I was very interested in knowing the "why" behind your preference and "no other choice"
In response, you troll me.
You are the one seeking attention here.

The comments about the ResMed preference have substance.
That is the sort of thing I was looking for and not being trolled.

Wulfman was of great assistance.
I am grateful for this.

I am a repair technician of nearly 50 years experience.
I have serviced thousands of devices from water cooled main frame computers, to cars to toasters.

Well, I DID have a "similar" problem, but it was apparently from a different source.
Mine was a broken hose nipple on the outlet port and possibly happened before it left the factory since there was only less than a minute of usage on the original card when I downloaded it. (it also had a dead internal clock battery)
Hard to say what the nature of your pressure problem is.

Sorry to hear that ACBIO is no longer working on those machines or have parts for them. My problem was over 11 years ago and lots of things can change in that time.

Those old "Legacy" machines were good, solid "blowers" for as long as they would last. I've seen many users report accumulated hours in the range you reported for yours. But, they don't last forever........which is why I made sure I had a number of backup machines before they disappeared.

Unless a person could find one on Craig's List or some other site, it seems that most of those machines ended up in the landfills.

Under your circumstances, I suppose I would also be inclined to lean toward a ResMed machine, too......albeit reluctantly.

But, keep your old one just in case you stumble across another one somewhere.

Good luck,

Den

Forgot to mention in other note, but I am now using THAT machine (from time before ... name it) as a backup, and have been for months. Used it originally long, long ago, just wish I could help with your problem, but not techie here at all.

Bingo! There are some on this forum who fit that description word for word.

It's got to the point, recently for me at least, where I don't even want to view some threads because of the know-it-alls around here...

Op was fully justified in some responses to not take any shit that is dished around these parts.

Tell me "why".
...I like to hear from those with more experience in selection.

What is the recommendation for a CPAP with heated humidifier?
I'm interested in reliability and longevity.

Mine has over 31,000 hours since I bought it in 2006.
Remarkable in its own right.
Just adding my own two cents...
I have a ResMed (5 years of use) with 15,000 hours on it. ResMed is my only experience with a CPAP.
It recently has been making a noise which appears to be a bearing going bad internally within the blower motor.
I wish I could just swap out the motor but I can't find a replacement. VA is going to be getting me a new one soon.

Other than the recent bearing noise, it's been still running fine (and I don't need to manometer either to tell that it's still blowing at an appropriate pressure! ).
While 15k hours is 1/2 of yours...There are plenty of long term stories of ResMed's up here and plenty of discussions of satisfaction with the machine that I'd be one to recommend getting a ResMed over anything else out there.

Good Luck!
