The early DS 2 models shipped out were discovered to have some kind of software issue.
This could be the reason why it isn't OSCAR compatible.

citation, please.

also, you do know that blue dragon is part of the team working on oscar, right? that's why he's getting sample data from users, so they know how to make it compatible.

Hello,

I'm new here but used Sleepyhead / OSCAR with my Dreamstation, my replacement Dreamstation 2 arrived last week and didn't come with a SD card. I would like to participate in helping by sending data to the OSCAR team.

Questions,

What is the maximum size card that will work in the DS2?

Will the DS2 automatically prepare a freshly inserted card for use?

If not, what file system format do I need to use to prepare the card?

Thanks in advance for your answers. I look forward to full data transparency to be able to monitor my own therapy.

It should work with any SD card that is 32GB or less and is formatted as FAT32, which is the default. The two SD cards that I tested my mother's Philips Dreamstation 2 (DS2) were a "SanDisk Ultra 32GB Class 10 SDHC UHS-I Memory Card" and "SanDisk 16GB SD SDHC Class 4 Flash Memory Card". Both worked. When I say worked, I mean the DS2 machine wrote files and created folders on the SD card. As many of you already known the DS2 is encrypting the data written to the SD card making it incompatible with OSCAR. I am hoping that the OSCAR development team can find a way to decrypt the data or Philips Respironics company will feel the pressure of unhappy customers about FOAM Gate and preventing patient from seeing their own data and change their tune.

My understanding is the the DS2 machine should automatically format any SD card that it does not understand or thinks is corrupt.

By default, 32GB SD cards should already be formatted as FAT32. So, there is no need to do anything. I believe SD cards larger than 32GB are formatted as exFAT and may not be compatible with the DS2. So, stick with SD cards that are 32GB or less.

@reddawg Thank you for the reply.

I ordered a new Sandisk Ultra 32Gb SD card so I can start capturing data for when it can be read by OSCAR.

Another thing, Philips did not actually include the return shipping label in the box my DS2 arrived in, I called and told them the day after the replacement came in, they took my email and phone number and have yet to do anything to rectify the situation. Them not being responsive to customers is, I take it, not in the least bit unusual.
