I've been using a CPAP steadily for the past 2-3 years, after I finally found the dreamware full care mask, it's the only one I could tolerate. I just discovered this forum and oscar, and would like an eval. I looked up AHI and see that my AHI of 1.67 is considered a desirable goal for a CPAP user. I guess the large leaks are my bathroom runs. 3-4 night on average, 1-2 is a wonderful night. I slept pretty good other than the bathroom runs.
I think my original pressure was prescribed as 9-13, and I adjusted that based on how well I thought I was sleeping.
I have to cinch my mask really tight, because I have a beard mustache, so I have marks on my face in the morning.
I'm considering getting a dreamware nasal and doing mouth taping.
I also had 9 HypoApnea events. Is their anything we can do about that?
Thanks for all input.

i'll speak up until the smart folk get here.
bump up your minimum pressure. see on your pressure graph how it climbs well above your start pressure of 12 and mostly doesn't go back down? the minimum pressure is doing the bulk of the work. so unleash it and let it do it's thing. i'd say at least 13 or 14, whatever is comfortable for you.
oh. and welcome to the zoo!
<waits patiently for my betters to correct me.>

Re: Oscar Eval
Well, I'm not sure his min. needs bumping and that could lead to some problems, but as far as the hypopneas go, try not to backsleep if you do it - may make a difference, though 9 of them is not bad at all.

Re: Oscar Eval
The hyponeas aren't really enough to be a big problem IMHO.
The pattern to the hyponea clusters point to maybe REM stage sleep where it is common to need more pressure.
How old are you? Male or female? Have to go pee often during the day?
How are you sleeping and feeling during the day?
If you want to try a little bit more minimum to see if the hyponeas reduce (they usually take just a little bit more minimum) I don't see if hurting anything. Maybe around 0.5 cm more minimum.
But if sleeping good and feeling good....certainly not an urgent thing to do.

Re: Oscar Eval
I'm a side sleeper, I can't back sleep even if I try. I'm male, and hitting the big 6-0 tomorrow (9-5). I pee every 90 minutes to 2 hours during the day I suppose. I take a nap nearly every day, even if it's a 10-15 minute power nap. I'm an IT specialist and my job is mentally demanding, and even on an easy day, I switch between so many tasks during the day, that just switching my attention back and forth gets exhausting, and that's when they're all fairly routine tasks by my standards. If I have a problem to solve, I have far more success when it's early in the morning. If it's in the afternoon, I'll struggle with it, but come in the next morning and figure it out pretty quickly.
Also, I'm 5 11 and 280 ibs. I work out but borderline diabetic with a big belly. I know how to eat, but keep losing my will power and sliding back into the carb cravings. It's like a never ending struggle, and I'm slowly losing ground.
I'm going to try and up my min pressure a little and see if that makes a difference.

Re: Oscar Eval
give it a few nights to settle in. then post those charts along with how you feel when waking up in the morning.
good luck!
