Septoplasty/Rhinoplasty

Post by Ograx » Fri Oct 11, 2019 7:49 am

Well I had my surgery yesterday and feel not too bad all things considered.

I was a little too out of it after surgery and was wondering when you guys started to use CPAP again after having your surgeries?

I will have the splints in my nose for 3 weeks and am removing the packing today.

I also had a Rhinoplasty where they removed nose bump which is pretty much where the nasal mask sits.

Had a terrible go at sleeping last night trying to sleep in recliner and woke up gasping for air dozens of times.

I am going to try and get ahold of doctor but wanted to see what you guys did and how it worked.

I didn't use my CPAP while recovering from Septoplasty / T. Reduction.

I can't use a full face mask and couldn't breathe through nose while the splints were in. I slept sitting up with a wedge pillow. My splints were in for 10 days.

Ask your surgeon...you don't want to start bleeding. Everyone is different...I never had any splints when I had mine done.

Just got off the phone with them.

Wants me to not use CPAP at all until they remove splints in 3 weeks. Giving me month off work to fully recover as I have a very physical job and they pretty much renovated my whole septum system as well as my actual nose.
