Resmed My Air?

Post by joeljjk11 » Tue Feb 27, 2018 8:42 am

So every day I look at the Resmed My Air site and look at my stats from the night before. Last week my leakage was a bit higher at around 8 l/min because I think I was breathing through my mouth. Is this bad? And also what exactly does this stat mean? I tightened my chin strap and my leakage has been 0 L/min that past few nights. I do feel better the past few days since my leakage has been 0.

Thanks,
Joel

That 8 L/min number is what we call a 95% number and the definition is where you were at OR BELOW for 95% of the night.
The or below part is real important.
95% numbers are easily skewed higher by relatively short periods of time at higher numbers.
ResMed machines report excess leak only. Not all machines report leaks like ResMed.
ResMed's line in the sand where they say that large leak territory begins is 24 L/min.

So if my 95% leak number was 8 L/min I would be doing the happy dance and breaking my arm patting myself on the back because I don't see 8 L/min 95% numbers very often.

Were you mouth breathing? Maybe...maybe not. Unless leaks disturbed sleep even if you did it wasn't very much for very long.

Use available software if you want to see the real details.
