What's the deal with "SleepSeeker"?

Post by NateS » Wed May 29, 2013 7:32 pm

Got an email from ResMed about videos to download something called "SleepSeeker" from:

https://www.wakeuptosleep.com/adjusting ... eepseeker/
Tracking your therapy data with SleepSeeker is very important to help you ensure that you are receiving proper treatment through the night.

If you use a ResMed S9™ therapy device, you can now upload your data straight from your SD card to your computer!
What's the deal with this?

Has anyone tried this?

Is there any point to it for those of us who are already using ResScan?

Regards, Nate

Looks like ResMed's answer to Respironics SleepMapper which can be found at sleepmapper.com.
IMHO a bunch of fluff and remember...we aren't supposed to even know about ResScan much less use it.
It will likely target very general stuff like hours of sleep and leaks over 24 L/min for more than 25% of the night.
If it tells us something we don't already know or have access to then I will be really surprised.

I downloaded SleepMapper for my PR system - SleepSeeker looks a lot like it. It caused havoc on my computer, so I took it off - but it was a waste of time - not much real help. I didn't like my cpap info being loaded into their site.

Maybe they should have named it, "SleepStalker ".

Where the $%&@# is my data?

Post by pootsie » Sat Jun 08, 2013 2:12 pm

I downloaded Sleepseeker and tried it out. It told me that I have been using my CPAP machine and that I had some small leaks at some point, but not when or in what pattern or anything. It shows me a max number of events but not when, or in what relation to each other. Were all my leaks at the begining of the night as I adjusted my new mask, or were they in the middle of the night and I did not know?

No way to tell!

Seriously, what a piece of junk! Why on earth would they even offer this?

It's almost as if all the professionals in the field think ...

Thank you, CPAPtalk members, for helping me get to real info.

I deleted it.

I was concerned that it might interfere with ResScan in some way, since it seemed to want to take over every time I inserted my SD card.
