Need help interpreting data

Post by reitzell » Mon Feb 08, 2010 9:49 pm

Need help interpreting data. I got a second data capable CPAP machine and the software…

I made some pretty charts. I’m not sure how to read them. I plan on studding up on this but I was wondering if I could get thoughts from someone who knows how to read this.

Thanks,
Rob

I'm no Pro but since no one has responded to you yet, I'll try my hand at this.... You are sleeping a lot with the CPAP, which is good. At a CPAP pressure of 8.0 and using Cflex exhalation relief, your average AHI (Apnea-Hypopnea Index) is 2.4 (under 5 is your goal, the lower the better). I'm not sure what to make of your mask leaks because I don't know what mask you're wearing and I don't know what Average Maximum Leak means... Your leak line is not very flat, so there may be some issues there, but no "large leaks" (course my machine always says 0% large leaks, even when I've spent 2 hours adjusting straps and seating and reseating my mask, so I don't know how sensitive that index is). And you snore.

Cognitively you must be doing adequately because you've figured out how to post your data. How do you feel?

Let's have someone who knows what they are talking about tell me how I did.

Image is the only one that really looking at closely - where the daily details are posted.

I suspect some of the leak spikes are readjusting the mask but the overall graph isn't bad imo.

BUT, how is your hose set up? Does it rub against something when you move about? Do you have a lot of water in the hose? Or is this really snores?

Thanks!

I think that is snores. I was looking around and that number did seem high to me.

I was titrated at Scripts sleep clinic in San Diego. Originally had 7 but my gf said I was snoring (and I recorded my snoring with dream catcher on my Mac) so I bumped it to 8 to see if it would help. Then I found this forum and just got a data capable CPAP and the software.
