I'm new...Is CPAP Pro Nasal Pillow good?

Post by NFLdoc » Fri Dec 12, 2008 11:15 am

I am considering purchasing the CPAP Pro Nasal Pillow (no headgear, held by mouthpiece). Does anyone have any thoughts or experience with this nasal pillow?

If you do a search you will find lots of topics about this mask -- the vast majority do not like it.

I've used it over a month. For me, it's excellent!! The Doctor prescribed Cpap Pro at the perfect time in my therapy.

If I had started Cpap Pro with a foggy mind, still tired and frustrated, it wouldn't have worked. I would have struggled adjusting it, broken pieces and given up.

The leak rate is low, once adjusted correctly. And, the benefits are beginning to show. Muscles becoming strong again, no pain. Nice stretch before getting out of bed. Need less sleep, full energy for entire day.

I sleep better with Cpap Pro. No pressure points all over my head like a regular mask. Hard to go back the old way.

They improved on the noise from the diffusers. You get spare parts with it.

I found it very important to read the instructions. Second time on 'Boil and bite' worked quite well. And, don't have pulling pressure on the hoses. I put a hook near the 'Brick' and me, always slack in the hose. I can toss and turn easily.

I had to overcome many negative comments before having the courage to purchase CPapPro. I trusted my Doctor, good decision...

Take care,

SG

SG, that's really great to hear. I agree with you - during early days when you're not getting good therapy ANY MASK can be a complete bust. But the Pro has so many complications, I can totally see a newbie becoming homicidal over it.

Good for you for posting that!!!!

Now, I want to plug something to you. How about you get the same configuration as the CPAP Pro, very little skin contact, no facial blockage, at a cheaper price, no boiling, no biting, no adjusting?

It's called the Nasal Aire II. No mouth piece. Just prongs in your nose, that are held in place by friction.

For the original poster - before you shell out money on something that's pretty pricey, you want to test drive a Nasal Aire II for about $10 postage? If so, PM me. I run a free test drive for this mask. You can read all about it in the links in my signature block.

I think the CPAP Pro is a good idea. But I agree that it's complicated and takes some getting used to. So many of us are just too sleep deprived to have the patience to make it work.

Cheers,
Babs

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula. :)
