Desperately Frustrated sleeper seeking help

Post by doriluigi28jk92 » Thu Mar 16, 2023 11:12 pm

Hi. I’ve been on CPAP/APAP for years.
I had to get a replacement new ResMed Airsense 10 APAP machine on Feb 9 as the motor broke on the other machine. they gave me a new machine.

Since then, I’ve been waking every single day with a dry mouth. I’m also having more events than I’ve ever had in years. Before I got the new machine, no dry mouth, close to 0 events and I was using that machine since 2021. I have no clue what the humidity or tube temp was set on the other machine I returned. How do I fix this issue? No one seems to know when I ask around the community so I’m asking here. Nothing changed except a replacement machine. I’m using the Bleep mask, same mask I’ve been using since 2021. I do know what the sleep settings were on old machine and I changed the new machine to reflect this. This issues started that night so I know it’s the machine settings.

I also have a humidifier in my bedroom and I do use that. I also used that for the last year with the other machine and never encountered any issues with dry mouth and a lot of events per hour.

What do I need to set the tube temp at and the humidity level on the machine? The humidity in my bedroom gets to between 53-59%. It’s Arizona so really dry. I’m about to cry cuz this is so frustrating. I hope someone can please help guide me. Thanks so much

Did you have and SD card in your old machine? Did you keep it?
If you did, there's a program that will tell us everything about the settings on your old machine.
Please read the first announcement the forum, and follow the intructions:viewtopic/t172378/Sticky--Newbies-PLEAS ... STING.html

If you don't have the SD card from the old machine, check if you have one in the new machine. If you don't, buy one, insert it, keep it there when you're sleeping and upload the data as instructed.
The will help us see all present setting, and what's going on with your breathing as you sleep.

We need the data in order to help you figure out what's going on.

You could try various settings for the humidifier over a couple of nights each and see what works for you... just be careful not to congest your nose with a very high setting unless it works well for you.

The people who confuse "entomology" and "etymology" really bug me beyond words.

I've already read this and have been using Resmed Airsense for years, but thank you.

The old SD card was in the old machine. I bought a new one. I posted them here. Thanks for reviewing them.

Here is the data. Would love some guidance, anything, I need to sleep as I feel like I'm losing my mind.
I turned the humidity level up last night to a 4 and woke up with dry throat, headache, and water chamber close to empty (which has never ever happened before this new stupid machine).

Thanks.

I don’t follow what you’re saying. I am in one thread.
Where do I post the Oscar data for someone to look at it?
Thx

Zonker is right, you created two threads:

This is the second one, unnecessary, and containing no data:

If you have OSCAR data from both machines, that's great.

If you don't know how to post the images, Zonker will no doubt help you.

You need to use an image hosting service, as direct attachments are impossible.
This is because the forum sponsors refuse to fix the problem.

Hi, here are the Oscar reports:

https://www.flickr.com/photos/197939421 ... d080r69815

I attached last 3 months and the one from last night. If this doesn't work, I give up. I'm too exhausted to try to figure this out. Thanks to whoever looks at this and lets me know what you see.

Recap:
1. Been using the same Resmed Airsense Auto APAP since 2021. Same Bleep mask, AHI's close to 0 and I was sleeping okay, everything fine.
2. Feb 9, 2023-the motor was going out, my DME gave me a new replacement machine; same model.
3. Since Feb 9th, haven't slept much at all. I'm about to lose my mind.

I stopped using Oscar after Sept 2022 as I was sleeping okay.
I started using it again when I got this new machine Feb 9, 2023.

Last night, humidity in my bedroom was 48%.
I lowered the min and max pressure settings and I was gasping for air, so I increased them back to what they were.
I had the tube temp on 79 and humidity level set to 5, ended up woken up with rainout.
I changed the tube temp to Auto and humidity to 4. That fixed the rainout.
Used Hyperfix mouth tape last night. Woke up dry mouth, dry nose, headache and dry and sore throat.

The night before last, I didn't run my humidifier and slept better, but still AHI's.

thanks.
