faith in mankind.
According to many from my planet, the jury remains out on mankind as a whole. We're still in the process of collecting data on all of you--mostly based on what you reveal in forums or broadcast from your PAP machines.

So far here, only chunkyfrog has earned a free pass to the mothership.

Why, haven't many members of this very forum recommended disabling the modem, if for no other reason than fearing a doc or company somewhere might learn their AHI, or whatever? Oh, heavens! Lions and tigers and bears!
I think the fear is that the doc or DME will realize that we've played around with the therapeutic settings and they'll set them back to whatever the script said without telling us.

I think there's also a fear that the DME may (eventually) have the power to remotely lock us out of the clinical settings of our xPAP and that we will no longer be able to dial-wing when the fancy hits us.

That sounds remotely like what ifixit.com was built on. The “right to repair “ our own goods and not be forced into proprietary acces hell.

I can see how this would easily fall into that category.

Although I make jokes about almost everything, I consider the OP's question to be a perfectly valid one.

There is something particularly intimate about a device one sets on one's nightstand, and the idea of it containing a modem easily weirds people out.

Why, haven't many members of this very forum recommended disabling the modem, if for no other reason than fearing a doc or company somewhere might learn their AHI, or whatever? Oh, heavens! Lions and tigers and bears!

We can't expect every poster here to be a technological whiz-bang. I know I'm not one. We help newbies. And each other. Preferably without insult.

There are no stupid questions here. Only stupid answers. Usually mine. Or something like that.
No, it's not a valid question. It's not based on any evidence, it's no more valid than asking about a flat earth and moon hoax.

Some questions, simply should not be entertained nor encouraged.

Turning on Airplane mode???

A billion dollar company, with everything to lose, and nothing to be gained by installing covert microphones and cameras, is going to respect an airplane mode switch.

Fortunately, I have photographic evidence from the lunar eclipse to support the flat earth theory. Science! And a wee bit of Photoshop…

We all know that these machines have the ability to send data to (Dr., clinic, manufacturer, GOVT" How do we know, and/or how hard would it be to add a microphone and/or camera in that unit?

The fact that you asked this, and how you asked it, demonstrates you don't have the technical background to discuss it intelligently.

Although, yesterday Hey Google told me that we both really should be more careful what we talk about around Alexa.

My security doorbell disagreed.

Which is significant, since it usually just chimes in.

It is my personal belief that questions in forums need not be based on evidence but that answers should be. Hey just me.

But you do you.

Gotta go. At the moment I'm having a one-way conversation with the NSA through my "turned off" cell phone from a flat spot on earth about which sound stage was used by NASA to fake the moon landing.

Is there any particular reason you didn't answer his question?

Surely you're capable of turning on Airplane mode, could you not have then shared it with the OP?

I guess I'm just not that bright.

But thanks for your constructive and meaningful observation. I will give it all due consideration.

This got me to thinking, I know, I know...

How do Flat Earthers explain a lunar eclipse?

They probably figure that the flat plate was facing the sun rather than perpendicular to it like the photo above.
