F30i is amazing until it leaks into my eyes

Post by BatmanMatt » Tue Jan 11, 2022 7:26 am

It fits great. At some point in the night it gets jostled and leaks a little into my eyes and sometimes wakes me up. Mask cover didn’t help. Do I have to get a different mask? I really like this one. Have less leaks by a mike than the f20.

You might want to look into https://duckduckgo.com/?q=quartz+eye+mask&t=h_&ia=web
That looks similar to a torture device for a side sleeper.

Did you mean the mask that’s made of quarts?

No, they have masks especially for Cpap users... maybe you need to google a bit or ?

I've had that too and I push the cushion a little further up on my face into my cheeks and that works, but it may not work for you. I agree, this cushion is by far the best I've used, especially with the hose being out of the way like it is. These cushions are relatively cheap and I think they may even be available in walk-in pharmacies now. I would try all sizes as a start before going through too much trouble with more devices on your face at night. My original harness and mask setup came with all three sizes so you might already have them.

I had the same problem with my F30i. when I moved around my side, the mask shifted a little. what I did to help fix this problem. I order a mask cushion from pad a cheek. this pad helped my leaking problem. the pad will extend the life of the cushion too. I'm on my second month now.

I tried the padacheek cushion but it only increased my leaks.

How often do the leaks disturb your sleep?
Several times a night? Once a night? Once every so often?

It seems like once or twice at least where I need to adjust it to shut it up. On OSCAR it looks like every hour there's a spike which tells me that when I roll around it causes it. I just ordered two different memory foam contour pillows and Im going to pick up a My Pillow today and try it out in the interim. Could just be a pillow problem. I use an extremely soft down pillow.

The silicone bubble "quartz" eyemask (--not the mineral) is a decent mask--IF it fits!
I purchased one, when cpap.com had them, but returned it because of poor fit.
A teen size silicone swim mask works better for me, but I have to punch air holes
at the outside part to prevent suction on my eyeballs.

I’d think a more comfy and pillowy option like a blackout mask would work just as well the 2 suggested goggles.

Any thoughts on my graphs here? I can't figure out why I get leaks when pressure spikes then goes away. Also, my flow limit isn't improving much at EPR 2 which I'm used to now. I guess I go up to 3? Put my mask on and put the pressure at 11 to test for leaks? Thanks again.

My first thought is a very small mask movement leak and not related to pressure at all.
You can always test things by doing a fixed pressure experiment.

I would be doing the happy dance for all the world to see if that was my leak line. Damn near perfect 0.0.
If they weren't hitting your eyes and waking you up I would say shrug your shoulders and move on.
