I had a similar experience.

I’ve used Cpap/apap for over a decade with nasal pillows. But now with central apneas have been prescribed an ASV.

I’ve also had a previous esophagus stricture which caused food backup stretching and weakening the esophagus walls.

I started using the ASV just over a week ago. A few days ago I experienced esophagus issues again, much more severe than before. The more I use the ASV the worse my esophagus gets (severe pain in lower chest when swallowing)

I did some research and found that with CPAP if your mouth opens your nose pressure pressurizes the esophagus.

I know that I have awakened with my mouth open. I believe that when this happens the ASV is giving my esophagus full ventilation pressure causing my issues.

I’m going to try switching to my full face mask. It’s much less comfortable and much harder to sleep. Hopefully I can make it work.

you may be better served starting your own thread rather than resurrecting one four years old.

(now, having said THAT, everyone will rush in to help you.)
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.
