2 more chemo infusions--and I should be all done!
The PET scans show remarkable improvement; but the pneumo test shows
some reduction, so my doc has ordered a breathing exercise device for me.
So I go back for chemo on Friday--then 2 weeks after (on Black Friday).

They did a lung function test--actually three, spaced over my chemo courses.
Because one of the drugs in my chemo is known to cause lung damage,
I asked if there was anything I could do to lessen the impact; and my oncologist
Is going to check with my pneumonologist (sleep doc)
to get me the device that can help.

I intend to continue.
The bleomycin in my chemo can cause damage up to 5 years after chemo;
and the damage is exacerbated by radiation--and possibly rendered terminal
by the administration of oxygen. (Yeah, ohh, crap!)
I need to prevent my interstitial lung tissue from losing flexibility,
by keeping those tissues flexible.
I guess once they harden--you need a transplant.
Medicare, vs my age--not likely to happen . . .

Great report from your doctor! I'll be praying that God protects your lungs from damage and that the exercises work. I understand about damage from cancer treatments, in my case radiation for uterine cancer. I STILL have livable but very restricting side effects eight months later. Never thought I'd have this. But cancer and its treatments are sneaky and bad, wherever they hit us. :(

Infusion #5 is done.
Somebody (me or someone on the staff) neglected to fill my olanzapine,
--which I need TONIGHT!! [For nausea--works like a charm].
So I phoned the on-call doc, who arranged to get it filled for this weekend.
I have another pulmonary function test (PFT) on the 7th of December.
And thus continues my own little froggy soap opera . . .

Side effects of latest chemo: the usual no BM until this evening,
and crazy blood sugar Friday night.
Appointment with ophthalmologist tomorrow afternoon.
Normal 6 month pressure and visual fields check.
I've been knitting hats on the round loom--out of SOFT yarn.
I can get three caps out of a ball of the Pipsqueak baby yarn.
I can't use all these caps, but I will keep one of each and
donate some to the freebie box at the oncology center.
Sadly, one of the prettiest yarns has 21% wool,
which I did not expect to itch--but does. So, those all get donated, too.
---With a label indicating wool content.

Earlier in the week, I had to go to a different DME to get my incentive spirometer.
While waiting for the paperwork, I could not miss the great, BIG SoClean display,
right in the middle of the sales floor--hooked up to RESMED machines.
I asked the salesman if he was aware of the Resmed warranty issue.
He said they tell everyone about it--but the display is RIGHT THERE--in your FACE.
He had to be LYING!
Just for sh÷ts and giggles, I hinted that I might at some point need to shop
for new cpap equipment.
It was satisfying to wave raw meat in front of that ferret.

I wonder how ResMed would feel about a DME openly selling the SoClean and hooked up to one of their machines despite the warning????

Maybe someone should rat the DME out to ResMed?????

ResMed makes people sign contracts with various limits to have the privilege of selling their stuff.
I wonder if the SoClean or similar ozone device is mentioned anywhere in those contracts given ResMed's very clear position on the use of ozone cleaners and their machine warranty.

I am very reluctant to think of this particular one (and some others)
as anything BUT a salesman.
No titles, certificates, etc. would convince me otherwise.
I took pictures with my phone . . .
Anybody know Resmed's email?
