Just want to know what DATA from OSCAR I should show to get advice. Also how many days worth of too. Thanks!

Re: What graphs/data in OSCAR to show to get advice?
The required data are flags, flow rate, pressure, leak, flow limit.
The easy way to set the OSCAR (v1.2) graphs in the preferred order and format:
1. Go to View menu - Reset Graphs - Standard
2. In View menu, turn on Sidebar
3. Again in View Menu turn off Daily Calendar and Pie Chart
4. Set Graph Height in File Menu -> Preferences -> Appearance Tab
On my setup, when set to 80, I get really squished up graphs.
At 192, the 5 graphs (flags, flow rate, pressure, leak, flow limit) are nicely spaced out.
At 160 I also get snores as the bottom graph.

grumpyhere takes care of the what, as to the how many, the forum only allows 3 days worth as an attachment and those 3 days will be plenty to start out on.

Re: What graphs/data in OSCAR to show to get advice?
Here are my last three days. I've been feeling even more tired on the machine than off, so feeling quite hopeless tbh. Bit of a headache today when upped from 4 to 5 min, but might just be from poor sleep.

Re: What graphs/data in OSCAR to show to get advice?
Need a bit of history from you please. Please take the time to answer all of them.
1..Do you take any meds of any kind? If so, what are they?
2..Where do you live?...and at what altitude?
3..Are you actually sleeping very much with the mask and machine on? Or doing a lot of laying awake with mask and machine on?
4..What were the results of your sleep study that earned you this machine? Do you have copies of those results? If not, request copies ASAP. Home study or done in a lab? Did you ever have a sleep study done with mask and machine on to sort out optimal pressures? Or did they just tell you that you had Sleep Apnea and give you this machine and tell you the machine would sort out the pressure needs?
5..Any other physical or mental health issues going on that might impact how you sleep and/or feel?
6..Normal bedtime and get up times?
7..Age and male or female?

Re: What graphs/data in OSCAR to show to get advice?
1..Do you take any meds of any kind? If so, what are they?
olanzapine (2.5mg) and escipratolam (20mg)
2..Where do you live?...and at what altitude?
Sydney around 96m altitude.
3..Are you actually sleeping very much with the mask and machine on? Or doing a lot of laying awake with mask and machine on?'
Yeah mostly sleeping with it. Maybe 20 mins then asleep.
Findings were:
exhibited fragmented sleep architecture throughout his home diagnostic sleep study. He had a sleep
efficiency of 79% with a prolonged sleep latency of 40 mins and frequent arousals. REM sleep was reduced. Sleep was
predominately in the lateral positions and supine REM was seen. The Epworth Sleepiness Score is normal at 4.
The study was characterised by flow limitation and frequent obstructive hypopnoeas with an AHI of 30/hr. These events
were associated with an average oxyhaemoglobin desaturation of 3% with a nadir saturation at 90%. Average saturation
during the study was 94%. The desaturation index was normal at 3 events/hr.
Frequent snoring was observed throughout the night. Sinus rhythm was observed on ECG throughout the study with a
baseline heart rate of 58 bpm. Blood pressure was normal at 112/62mmHg.
Conclusion:
Severe obstructive sleep apnoea and minimal arterial oxygen desaturation.
Need anything else? Was a home study.
Sleep doc just said I should try low pressure but nothing exact and to go for APAP since he doesn't know the exact pressure I need.
5..Any other physical or mental health issues going on that might impact how you sleep and/or feel?
Depression. But I feel more worse waking up tired on the machine than off regardless of condition right.
6..Normal bedtime and get up times?
Not sure. When I developed sleep apnea 4 or so months ago I had been sleeping 12 hours around 1am-1pm. But I've only been on APAP for 5-6 days and it's been wonky, from sleeping late to waking late, to taking long hours naps on the machine since I'm so tired on it.
7..Age and male or female?
Male

Re: Want OSCAR advice!
Try turning EPR off and see what happens.

Re: Want OSCAR advice!
Turned EPR off. First couple days it looked better. Although I felt relatively the same. But now I've started leaking but feel just as crappy as usual. People have suggested I may need ASV due to how many central apneas I have. Attached is sleep study, and first day with EPR off.

You don't have anywhere near enough centrals to warrant an ASV.AFAFAF wrote: ↑Mon Nov 01, 2021 1:44 amTurned EPR off. First couple days it looked better. Although I felt relatively the same. What about from the sleep test? I just feel really awful on the machine and don't know what to do.
24 obstructive
45 Central
252 Hypopnea
Wouldn't most of the Hypopnea be central based?

Re: Want OSCAR advice. Feeling desperate
I'm sleeping 12+ hours and not feeling too great (feeling worse on CPAP than without). Some Cheyne Stokes Respiration has appeared too should I be concerned?

Re: Want advice. Feeling worse on CPAP than off.
That's not CSR. It's just periodic breathing of which CSR is one form of PB but there are other forms of PB.
You need to be having a chat with your sleep doctor though. I don't see minor tweaking with your machine being able to resolve all your issues. Sorry.

Re: Want advice. Feeling worse on CPAP than off.
That's unfortunate. I wonder if I should just stop using it if it's making me feel worse on it than off.
Re: Want advice. Feeling worse on CPAP than off.
You feel terrible because you're not sleeping.
Your pressure is too low, causing you more sleep disturbances.

Can you explain why you think I have many sleep disturbances? Maybe I just don't remember them but I feel like I usually just sleep through them.
