Very hard to breath in mask.

Post by ScoobyDad » Thu Oct 07, 2021 3:52 pm

I have a Phillips dream something full mask and even without the machine it's hard to breath in it to start he point I run out of oxygen. I was told to try in front of TV for one min then five minutes and keep increasing it.

How are these machines supported to work if you can't breath?

Will I get used to it? Or do I have to worry about this and hope it doesn't kill me someday?

I work evenings and today too much going on to sit down to try. I will try tomorrow morning.

I can’t help much as I’ve never used the Philips products, but I expect those who can help will want to know exactly what mask and CPAP machine you are using. See if you can get the specifics and post them. Put it in your signature as well (see mine below) so it shows up when you post.
There is no right or wrong side of the road. There is only the road.

I will check tonight or tomorrow morning.
It's set as a auto pap so with it not doing a thing I can't breath. If I slow down then it gives air.
I added the resmed in the app before turning on. Then after it bring on the my air lost the device. So I have to set it up again.
Ramp feature is being used.
Will check the others soon as I can

I updated the footer and the profile for the machine

If you are wearing the mask without the machine, there is a hole where the hose attaches and a valve in the elbow that allows you to beathe. You will not run out of oxygen. When wearing the mask with the machine running there is plenty of fresh air coming into the mask. I have never heard of anyone suffocation while using a CPAP. You will have plenty of air to breathe.

Even with machine on its hard to breath out and breath in. If I stop breathing in I get the rush of air because I need a auto pap.
I am going to try tomorrow morning to train for it but it's just too tough. They claim I will get used to it.

Push the start button and the dial at the same time and hold them for a few seconds. You will then see an option for the clinical menu on the screen. Select it and press the dial. You will then see your pressure settings and the level of your pressure relief. Be sure to exit the clinical menu when you’re done.

Since you do not seem to know your numeric settings, I can only conclude that
your machine has not been set at all, but has been left at factory default 4-12.
No wonder you are having trouble breathing!
I would be MISERABLE!
