Flow Limit

Post by sleepbetter » Tue Sep 14, 2021 4:02 pm

I replaced my Philips Respironics with an AirSense 10, 83 days ago. Looking at my statistics on Oscar, my FL has gone to 0.0 since. That seems odd. Does anyone have any insight on why? The 525 days before on the Philips it was 1.12.
Thanks in advance.

Post some Oscar results - we're not that good at guessing. :D

pugsy said something about this some time ago-

and bluedragon chips in here-

in case you are unaware, bluedragon is one of the developers of oscar, so it's good to have his input.

Because 1) the machines report things different, and (most importantly) 2) the Resmeds just work better

Your max pressure should be turned up (preferably to 20)

Great links from Zonker! As you can see from your daily charts, you do continue to have flow limitations. They are sometimes pretty heavy. This may mean nothing for your health or for the quality of your sleep. But if you’d like to do an experiment, you could try increasing your EPR from 2 to 3. That might reduce the FLs some. Because you have so few obstructive events, I don’t think you need to raise your minimum pressure to compensate for the extra 1 cm. drop in pressure when you exhale.

i'm trying to emulate forum friend, grumpyhere, who is spectacular at hunting up links.

one trick is to type "www.cpaptalk.com search criteria" into a google search and pick and choose. the forum search box is pretty useless so one has to get imaginative!

me neither. it's been mentioned in the forum a few times. but at first, when i'd think to use it, i'd screw it all up. finally made myself a note of how it's structured so i can use it more often.
