from airsense 10 autoset to aircurve10 Vauto (help adjusting)
Hi,
OSA since 2015, on CPAP, been having difficult time lately. changed from dreamstation to resmed airsense 10 a month ago and to the aircurve10 this week.
Last night was my first night using my new aircurve 10 vauto. i went to my hospital when i purchased it and they set IPAP 4, PS6 and asked me to use for 3 days and then advise. the pressure support seem a bit overwhelming but i slept better then when i was using the airsense 10
i would appreciate your advice to adjust my settings

Isn't that your EPAP?
What were your settings with the 10 AutoSet? What was the rationale for switching to bi-level?
We could do a lot of guessing, but the right way to do this is to post a screenshot of your OSCAR Daily Details. Seen pinned posts at top of the index page.
Welcome to the forum!

i added the screen shot
rational for shifting, i tried the cpap and still feel tired and sleepy. been having problems with aythmias. waking up at night at 1-2 am with severe pulpitation and air gasping
this is a screen print of previous night while using the airsense

Well, the first thing I'd say to do is turn DOWN the EPR, (which completely negates the primary advantage of a VAuto.)Harith wrote: ↑Fri Sep 10, 2021 10:25 ami added the screen shot

I did that on the airsense 10 and increased the minimum pressure to 7 and max to 16, the EPR is on ramp which is set on auto.
I slept better on these settinngs and attached in the screen shot.
I have times when the flow is strange. i didnt understand what it means. attached a print.

Re: from airsense 10 autoset to aircurve10 Vauto (help adjusting)
What you did, effectively, by increasing the min by 1 and turning off EPR was to raise your min pressure by 2 (which is where I was going, but turning off EPR is a quick and easy way to get someone's pressure bumped.Harith wrote: ↑Sat Sep 11, 2021 5:42 pmThank you, palerider wrote: ↑Sat Sep 11, 2021 2:46 pmWell, the first thing I'd say to do is turn DOWN the EPR, (which completely negates the primary advantage of a VAuto.)Harith wrote: ↑Fri Sep 10, 2021 10:25 ami added the screen shot

Your pressure is still too low, but not as much so as before.
I don't recommend that the max be reduced from 20 (or 25 on a bilevel) unless there's a compelling reason to do so, all that lowering it does, in most cases, is prevent the machine from effectively doing it's job if you need more pressure to breathe better.
As to the zoomed in pic, you were having some flow limited breathing, (if you bring in the flow limitation and snore charts, you'll see it) which woke you up, you took a recovery breath, maybe changed position, and then went back to sleep.

great.
i will keep the new setting for few nights and post the results here for comparison.
for some reason, i wake up at 1:30-2:00 am with palpitations and feeling of suffocation. i will post prints of these events later.

bump the min pressure up to 8 (I'd go to 9, but if you want to go slow, that's OK) and raise the max to 20.

Please pick either the mask pressure or the pressure trace, not both.Harith wrote: ↑Sun Sep 12, 2021 9:01 pmlast night was not a good night of sleep. for some reason i removed the mask during sleep. i need a mask removal alarm to help.

As to the last couple of breaths there? you were waking up, nothing to see here, move along.

That big breath reflects some kind of arousal. After then next inhalation, you held your breath -- that's the CA. You were probably turning over. We often hold our breath when we exert ourselves.
As Pugsy says, not a fast-asleep CA.

i apologize the earlier screen shot was not for the full day. i added the last two nights.
i wake up at night between 2-3 am and i cant sleep for sometime. after making the adjustments to my cpap settings, i dont wake up with breathlessness and pulpitations like before.
