Post covid

Post by Hornnumb2 » Mon Sep 06, 2021 5:32 pm

Just recovered from the big C, I needed to try and sleep with out my nasal mask because the pressure in my head was just to much. I didn’t think it would work because I have tried before with a cold and it was just a vicious cycle, snore, wake up and repeat. This time it did work somehow, I did manage to get some sleep. Now that it’s over the tongue in top of mouth has worked for the last 5 years but doesn’t seem to work anymore, I am waking with dry mouth, and not sure what to do. Any suggestions to get back on track. Thanks Michael

xylimelts. they promote saliva while you sleep. a wee disc that sticks to your molar or gum, it slowly dissolves overnight.

find them in the oral care section of your local drugstore or on amazon.com.

good luck!
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

nasal mask
Are you using the nasal mask and think you are mouth breathing?

You may have to get a full face mask until you retrain your tongue.

Maybe a cervical collar to hold your chin up/mouth closed. You may still breath through your teeth, but it may help you while retraining.

You could always tape your mouth. Quite a few do.

That's what I always thought as well.

+1 for xylimelts. Not only do they keep your mouth moist but they also help reduce the amount of bacteria in your mouth which helps reduce tooth decay.

Different remedies work for different people. Xylimelts did not work for me. I have had success with using the "standard" 19mm inside diameter tubing rather than the "slimline" 15mm inside diameter tubing. It works because supplying a given amount of air through a tube requires less force if the tube is big. 19mm is 25% larger inside diameter than 15mm. In my case, this has significantly lessened dry mouth but has not totally eliminated it. Only ~$5 online, so you can try it cheaply.

WT?? CPAP provides pressure. The rise and fall of the body's diaphragm determines flow. You imagined something.

Large things have a psychological effect on perceived value,
even when there is no difference.
It is the only explanation for apartment dwellers buying Humvees.

If you select the proper tubing setting, you end up with the exact same pressure at the mask face.

Look elsewhere for your perceived 'remedy'.
