New P10 Headgear - N30 Slippage Fix

Post by GrumpyHere » Wed Jul 07, 2021 8:01 am

Apparently Resmed is starting to include a new adjustable headgear with the P10 (the same one as N30???).

So if you're ordering one, make sure you get the one with the upgraded headgear.

  They finally started supplying the N30 headgear in the P10 packaging.
Now they only have to make the one headgear instead of 2. Saves on production costs.
I am surprised it took this long to do that.

well, poop!

dogslobber turned me on to using the n30 headgear sometime last year.

my problem is, i couldn't get it to work for me. looks like i best go looking for the old style headgear and stock up.

bummer. as my old avatar used to say.
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

I’ve used the adjustable strap with my p10. The only problem is the strap slips and won’t stay where I set it.

You can add more friction to the system.

Cut a little strip of self-adherent wrap (3m coban or generic equivalent).

Wrap around each strand of the strap as pictured.

The rubbery wrap adds quite a bit of effort to loosen the strap.

"rubbery wrap" sounds like something i got at a street fair last year.

I need to try this. I just got the new headgear and my mask is coming off at night multiple times. This never happened with the old headgear and it's super frustrating. Amy other tips?

Just wanted to report back that this has worked for me, but I still feel like it doesn't fit quite as well as it used to.

Thank you for reporting back.

Good to hear that it works for people other than myself.

Sorry about the fit issue.

The "rubbery wrap", can also be found at farm stores in equine supplies.
It is known there as Vetwrap, and comes in a rainbow of colors.
The rolls are 4" wide--far more useful than the overpriced drugstore stuff.
It is intended to protect horses' legs when performing.

The "update" wasn't for anything new.

The doggone attachment storage problem lead to accidental delete of pictures.

So I am going back and adding urls to picture hosting site. Kinda of a pain.

i don't remember seeing the wee bit by the buckle before.

kind of you to go through the trouble of porting images over to a hosting site.

I've read posts saying that some folks wear baseball caps because the material is less slippery than hair. Worth a shot.
