I bought a Philips Dreamstation Auto CPAP, just need some help setting it, properly. (Very high AHI w/ Oscar data)
Insurance has yet get back to me (Its 2 months...), so I just bought one off Direct Medical (https://www.directhomemedical.com/dsx50 ... onics.html). I didn't even know there were different types of machine until they told my prescription was for a machine with Auto setting.
My sleep center I went to wanted $75-$150 to set up my new device. Nah.
Well I think I'm done setting up, but I'm not 100% sure. I went through my clinical settings on my old machine F&P Icon+ and basically copied and paste? Any critical information would be greatly appreciated.
I already went through the 3 part series from this YT channel
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xM5fY53Q0Vw
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MYtcyviA-ic
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0BhrJPDq_5s
[UPDATED] I was recently introduced to this website and Oscar, so I hope this info can help with getting my unit set up properly. [UPDATED] screenshots https://imgur.com/a/dd4HTHa
So basically, I dont think i set it up properly, because I dont have that refreshed feeling I once did since my old machine. I am really trying to avoid going to sleep center for set up, but they want to charge me. My AHI is extremely high and Im trying to get that fixed.

Was there a question that I missed?
Please post screenshots, not photos of computer screens.

To learn how to change the setting, you can get a copy of the Clinical Manual here:
https://www.apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap- ... tup-manual
You will find the directions for ordering the Clinical Manual about 2/3 down the page. Once you get the manual, it will tell you how to get into the clinician menu to set your pressure and turn on ramp if you want to use it. The default for the machine is 4 to 20, but many people find it hard to breath at a pressure of 4 cm. I recommend you set the low end to 6.
If you want to start using the machine before getting the manual, just plug it in and hook up your mask. The machine should already be set for a pressure range of 4 to 20. If using the humidifier, it is recommended to use distilled water. However, any drinkable water can be used. If you use tap water, you may get a build up of mineral deposits in the water chamber. If this happens, they can be removed with a little vinegar or lemon juice.

Jibbers Crabst! that's awful.
I'd prefer you do your screenshots like this:
http://cpaptalk.com/wiki/index.php/Oscar:organize
The one you did looked like it was a max of 9cm pressure, and you need more, min 10 max 20 for a start.

I recommend having the manual, it explains what all the settings do, plus there's good info in there, I recommend a read through.

Did you have ez start turned on if so turn it off as it is limiting your pressure and you need more pressure now not in 13 days time

It's on at the moment. I have been trying different settings. Right now it's 7-18. My AHI was 73 last night. I'm thinking off tapping out and bringing the device to the docs and let them set it up.

Ezstart is one of the stupid things Philips put on the machines.Iamknoware wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2020 10:46 amIt's on at the moment. I have been trying different settings. Right now it's 7-18. Please share an image of last night's detailed report.
I am a little late here but your first image looked like EZ Start was turned on and that's causing the machine to not be able to do what it is designed to do.
You DON'T want to be using EZ Start mode. Turn it off or be prepared for the machine to take over a month to maybe do a decent job of holding your airway open. It is NOT your friend at all. Stupidest thing Respironics ever offered on a machine.

There isn't magic button or configuration he's going to set that's going to reduce your AHI from 73 to 3.Iamknoware wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2020 10:46 amIt's on at the moment. - Set your device to the values suggested
- Leave it alone for the night, OSCAR doesn't report properly if there are multiple configurations in a day
- Present the screen shots as asked
- Be meticulous about reporting the settings accurately (ie Pressures, EZ Start, flex)
