Heated tubing? Heated humidifier?
Re: Heated tubing? Heated humidifier?
My concern with heated tubing is that it might increase bacteria growth inside the tube. I've eliminated my rainout by 1) keeping my machine a foot or more below bed level, 2) keeping the extra hose under the blankets (keeps hose warm), and 3) making sure that there are no water-collection loops in the hose outside the blankets, which is easy if your hose angles down to the machine.

The heated hose gets washed just like the slimline hose. Instructions say to wash in warm water with mild detergent.Schmonka wrote: ↑Mon Nov 12, 2018 7:38 amMy concern with heated tubing is that it might increase bacteria growth inside the tube. Re: Heated tubing? Heated humidifier?
I have seen zero negative effects from the heated hose. Been on the road with a new HDM Z1 Auto for a week now. I am doing fine with it, no heated hose or humidifier, but I will say the colder air in the hose seems to cause a bit of congestion through the night that I did not see with the heated hose on the ResMed Airsense 10 Autoset I have at home.
If you have ever had rainout, you will appreciate the heated hose even more!

Your concern is unfounded.

Re: Heated tubing? Heated humidifier?
Please, explain about that 'rainout' How,where and when does it occurs in this processing of using a heated vs non heated tubing?
You want to find a good compromise between comfort (temperature and humidity) without rainout.
