hi everybody!
I just went on vacation for about 10 days, and had low values of mostly 2-5, which was way cool! Before and after those 10 days, usual values would be 5-10.
This is a puzzle to me.
Does any of you have any ideas what could change during holidays which makes for such a difference? Has any of you experienced anything similar?
Sleeping time, activity, bed was mostly similar.
Now I'm thinking, maybe a different mattress? pillow? diet change?
Any input to try and get back to those low values would be welcome

I sleep better with fewer wake ups when I am traveling, which was really a pleasant surprise for me when I started cpap. I used to sleep much worse when travelinng, awake every hour, basically watching the clock. That said, my ahi is pretty much the same everywhere, but I use a pressure range. I have never looked to see if if my typical pressures (the ups and downs) are the same when traveling or not.
As for your numbers, have you looked at the data and compared it much? Perhaps if you post graphs of a typical night, we might have some suggestions to help you get it more ideal.

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?

Elevation, local humidity level, noise factors, bed diffs...

Re: difference during holidays
I went back to check your previous posts to see if you've shared SH data here before, and I see from those charts that many of the events in your AHI were CAs.
Is the lowered AHI when you're on holiday primarily a reduction of CAs or obstructives/hypopneas as well?

Thank you for all your input!
I will post graphs as soon as I remember to copy the data from the SD card.
altitude was similar, +/- 100ft, beds were all different (different hotels, hostels, night train, sleeping mat in a tent) - yet the lower AHIs were pretty consistent.
Arlene1963: After reviewing the CAs with my doctor, he suggested that they might be linked to the pressure changes of APAP, so for the moment I'm on straight fixed CPAP, and they seemed to have improved. During the holidays the improvements were all across the CA/obstructives/hypopneas.

Allergies can also play a role.LSAT wrote:I agree...+1Julie wrote:Elevation, local humidity level, noise factors, bed diffs...
Is your nose less stuffed when away? Pets?
I know the beds make a big diff for me.
