Where do you live that you can't get distilled water?

In fact, unless you know your tap water is very bad (full of minterals, etc) you can use it, but must check the tank often (weekly, every couple of wks) for signs of deposits and then runse the tank with a little vinegar in water and use a Q-tip to wipe any corners that still show problems).

Any potable water is fine. You might get some mineral buildup in the tank. Clean the tank to get rid of the mineral buildup. Mineral buildup can be removed with water and vinegar.

That's understandable.

I have a home distiller because the bullfrog is a world class shopper.
If it quits, we will have to do the Maker thing, with SS tubing and a pressure cooker--
Note: we are both very mechanically inclined--danger is involved.
[[[Do not try this at home, unless you are very competent/careful.]]]
