OT - My new hobby ...

Post by JohnBFisher » Sun Sep 01, 2013 12:49 pm

I know some of you may be wondering why I've not been hanging around as much as before. Well, I decided to take up a new hobby. I got into watercolor and pen & ink painting. Below are a few examples.

First is "Butterfly on Sunflower":

Next is "Aspens in Vail, CO":

And my latest, though not yet completed, is "Garden Path":

So, now back to your regularly scheduled show ...

This takes my breath away John! What an inspiration. Last week I got my watercolors out of storage and started playing. I was never -- and will never -- be as talented as you are but I do appreciate how challenging working with watercolor can be. Beautiful, thank you for sharing.

The person who started that "don't put me out to pasture" thread and thinks that retired people have all "lowered" their expectations could take a lesson from this thread and from you. I'm off to look at your website now.

+++100! Just beautiful! Have you been doing this for a long time... or truly a "new hobby"?

Wasn't there a woman a few years back who started painting when she was 90? Don't remember her name but she made a lasting impression on me. I think she made quite a bit of money off those paintings for several years.

Wow, John. The ones you showed me a few months ago were good. These are great! As good as your artistry was then, it's even better now!

I'm amazed!

These are awesome!!! I have always wished I was artistic but I am not even close. The one with the benches is beautiful the way it is. If I could I would purchase this and frame it! I am a newbie to cpap and this has brightened my day.

These are great John! I especially like the garden benches.

I have been getting back into painting too the last year. Mostly because I can't get into my studio downstairs.
The results have been a bit mediocre as far as I am concerned.
