Did she find you sleeping in chemistry class and take you home with her?

If I was on cpap therapy 10 years ago... I wouldn't have put back on the 80lbs I lost 11 years ago!
Sincerely,

...I wouldn't have gone through so much misery & illness & feeling like I lived in a fog all the time. I would have been a better wife, mother, & friend. I wouldn't have missed out on life because I was so exhausted I could barely function....

If I was on cpap therapy 10 years ago...

Post by Edie » Wed Dec 15, 2004 9:24 pm

...I wouldn't have been unemployable for the past three years.

...I wouldn't have lived in a fog through my 30's and missed out on so much of my life.

...I would have been a better wife and wouldn't now be trying to work things out so that my 20 year marriage doesn't end in divorce.

...I would likely weigh 40 lbs. less than I do now.

ON THE OTHER HAND - Now that I'm on CPAP therapy...

...I am able to work again and have my memory and concentration back.

...I have a lot of good years ahead of me where I WON'T be in a fog anymore.

...I have the energy and determination to save my marriage and hopefully make things work.
I got used to wearing contacts & braces, and now I'm used to CPAP, too.

I agree with all the above post and add I would have been less grumpy, aggressive and defensive. My doctors would also be driving Civics instead of Lexus's

I would have had a hard time maintaining compliance. When I was younger, I would have had a hard time with the whole idea of CPAP and the wierd face mask would have made me very self-conscious.

I also wear carpal tunnel mitts everynight both hands and have for years, I get lots of jokes especially in hunting camps but it makes such a difference, I don't care. I have bad arthritis as well and wear only SAS type shoes that are UGLY But they make a huge difference so I do it. And I work in a suit and tie environment where Brooks Bothers suits are the norm. I want to feel as good as I can and don't worry about it.

If I had been treated for sleep apnea 10 years ago, I would have been a happier person.

I find New Balance much more comfortable and they fit better than the SAS shoes.

I am taking MSM supplements for arthritis and it is helping a lot. It is over the counter but check with your doc first. There is a book written about MSM.

If I were on CPAP Therapy ten years ago..............

I would not be 80 pounds overweight.

I would not have hard to control blood pressure problems.

I would not have been such a crabby old lady these past 10 years.

I would have now been a well-rested sweet old lady.

I would now be able to give out some of the good advice that some old timer holdeheads are now doing on this great list.

Thanks,
Judy

I'd have enjoyed weekends more without having to sleep the afternoons away. I'd have won karate championships instead of coming in 2nd or 3rd.

Oh yes, I forgot that one.

Not wasting my weekends taking long naps and not enjoying the weekend and then not being able to sleep at night when I was supposed to.

Good one!

If I had been diagnosed 10 years earlier

Post by BP_HOSEHEAD » Thu Dec 16, 2004 5:18 pm

I wouldn't have the heart palpataions I do.
I wouldn't have alienated so many people with my temper.
I'd have had the energy to go out more with my Wife
I wouldn't be so heavy
I might have actually enjoyed my 20's and early 30's
I wouldn't have ruined my Garage door crashing in to it because I was asleep or had so many close calls driving home.

Since I have been diagnosed

I No longer live in that awful fog
I am a happier person
I am not mad all the time
Iam still heavy, but trying to find the motivation to excerise now that I have the energy
I realize just how sick I was for so many years
