Easier Adjusting After Cleaning

Post by Edie » Thu Dec 02, 2004 1:10 pm

It seemed I would finally get my mask straps adjusted just right and it was time to take everything apart and wash the mask again. I follow my DME's recommendation of washing in anti-bacterial dish soap once a week.

I finally worked out a solution for the strap adjustments.

1. I got the straps adjusted just the way I wanted them.

2. I put safety pins in the straps, NOT connecting the ends to the straps, just marking where the ends go.

3. I removed the mask and removed the straps from the mask.

4. I put a dot of fabric paint next to each safety pin. I used metallic paint so it's easier to see on the black straps.

Now it's a breeze to put my mask back together and it fits perfectly every time!

*A separate tip I picked up on this forum is to run the hose over my headboard. It makes a huge difference in comfort. My hose never pulls anymore.
I got used to wearing contacts & braces, and now I'm used to CPAP, too.
