Nose Plugging

Post by osagirl » Thu Apr 05, 2007 7:10 am

Right now I'm plugging my nose by rolling a ball of silly putty, then wrapping that in saran wrap. Then placing that in each nostril and putting tape over my nostrils....
there has to be an easier way !!

I can't have anything protruding out of my nose either cause then it will hit my oral mask which then makes it leak..

Also, I already tried the nose clip...1. didnt fully close off my air flow in my nose 2. it was so tight that it really hurt my nose.

I need ideas!!!

Are you using the Oracle mask?

I used their nose plugs and wrapped the tips in kleenex. Did a great job of sealing off the nostrills.

OSAGirl,

I sure hope someone can give you some better ideas, because I sure as Hell wouldn't put silly putty in my nose!! Good Lord, there's so many reasons why this is a bad idea. Please, please please try something safer tonight?

Have you tried those disposable foam ear plugs?

I had a friend who was turning blue from choking on a piece of omelet in a restaurant. He credits a lady who performed the Heimlich maneuver with saving his life.

Putting objects in your nose seems dangerous. Please reconsider other options.

I tried that. They get all wet after awhile in our nose and then the pressure pops them out. I also tried swimming plugs that clamp on the outside of your nose. they where two forceful and made my nose very sore and caused blisters.

The plugs that come with the Oracle don't seal very well and often get little 'whistling' leaks.

The oracle would have made me totally compliant if I could stop the nose leaks I have with it.

The included nose bungs are not the greatest design for the job,

swimming nose clips hurt after a while, I even tried modifying some with no joy.

Foam ear plugs distort and get wet as jskinner points out.

I've even tried to make my own invention too and no diggity

Osagirl, have you tried nose plugs? Here's some I found on ebay. I'm not sure the silly putty or the saran wrap scares me the most. ...

Pardon my ignorance, but why are you plugging your nose? Should I be putting Silly Putty up my nose too?

Thanks, I thought that might be the reason, but osagirl's (OP) profile showing the UMFF threw me off...

I wear a hybrid, but I turned it into an oral mask by blocking the holes where the pillows would go into. It works great, but like i said, I cant find anything to block my nose.
Does anyone know if i can buy nose plugs that come with the oracle without buying the oracle.
I didnt buy the oracle in the first place cause my mouth opens when i sleep..so that wouldnt work...

this is so frustrating!!!!!!! it seems so simple, all i need is to plug my nose! i dont even know where to go out "shopping" for a nose plug cause I dont know what store would have it

Why don't you use the pillows that came with the Hybrid?

Why do you not want to breathe through your nose? ... that is the normal way for breathing.

Usually, folks go to oral breathing only when they cannot breathe through their nose ... you seem to be doing the opposite
President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

Whatever works!

I've read in other posts here that the inexpensive nose plugs for swimming work better than the ones included with the oracle. You can get those at a pharmacy or sporting good store.
