No, it won't work the way you think it will. It takes Respironics machines at least a minute to shut down after the mask is *completely off*, not "slightly moved".
Oxygen getting into the machine is not optimal, however you can bleed the oxygen into the hose after an antibacterial filter, so most, if not all of the oxygen will vent through the mask even with the machine off.
My provider told me same aftem my complain. I admit that there's possibility of wrong setup and use of machine (im not the person who use it, its relatives in other part of country. But anyway its very frustrating that there's no chance to change that setting.
You are being a wonderful support to your relatives. They are fortunate to have you helping them. :)
Thx for kind words, we do what we can

Resmed airsense 10. We didn't have much choice tho, as soon it appeared on sale we bought it. As i can tell from what i read, it has this feature smart start which we lack in ds2
"Airsense 10" is a line of 4 different machines, so which one of the four did you get?

Hopefully it's one of the two Autoset models.

I cant say for sure, coz its already on its way, we bought it from "ebay" kind of site. But judging by photos from site its an autoset (im not 100% sure). Whats difference? Why you hope for specifically Autoset model?

the CPAP machine has no data.
the Elite machine has data, but is not an auto adjusting machine.
The Autoset has data and an auto adjusting machine.
The Autoset for Her has all the features of an Autoset as well as an additional mode that might be better for someone of either sex.

I see, ty. I don't really think that we need data collection or auto adjust. We need 5-6 cm constant pressure to oxy supppy and that's all. Hope I'm not wrong

If that's all you need, then why don't you just use a cannula?

as ive been told, oxygen by cannula isnt enough, its more efficient to carry it with support of cpap under pressure. all this have to be done to improve oxygen saturation of patient at home
