Medicare and the CPAP Recall

When you get a replacement from Phillips in the Recall, does it affect your Medicare if you dont ask for a new one? I might be entitled to a new one after five years, but didnt want to go through the hassle since this one works fine, and its doing its job, is quiet and reliable, and the data works with my original Sleepyhead software, which was a bitch to get set up.

Medicare no longer allows a new machine every five years. They will only authorize a new machine if there is something wrong with the machine and the cost to repair is too high.

FYI...Sleepyhead was replaces by Oscar. It's easy to convert.
