Distilled Water

Post by moosie » Mon Aug 23, 2021 9:31 am

Going on a cruise and part of it is on land for 7 days in Alaska. I don't want to lug distilled water around with me while on the land portion. Can I use tap water on the Resmed C-PAP or just not use any water if distilled water is not available.

Distilled water is NOT required for your cpap. Many folks just use tap water, others use bottled water. When I traveled I just used plain old bottled drinking water. If my humidifier looked a little yucky when I got back, I gave it a good wash. Plain and simple ... you do not need to use distilled!

Happy Cruising

if the water is safe enough to drink, it's safe enough to use in your CPAP device.

Distilled water is a cleaning convenience not a medical requirement.

Don't be alarmed if a member named sleepgeek comes along. For some strange reason he gets upset when others suggest anything other than distilled. He uses distilled water and takes any suggestions of non-distilled personally, he might even show you a picture of a humidifier tank that says "Distilled water only".

On ResMed's COVID resource page they specifically state that tap water is safe and won't harm your machine.

After sleepgeek gets here, expect the topic to go off topic as he derails it.

Sigh...if this becomes another pissing contest I will nip it in the bud right off the bat.

I am not in the mood for more bull crap.

The previous thread...I just now made a sticky.
We have a gazillion of them but that one was handy.

And it won't take much for me to lock it and be done with it.

Now moosie does not have to ask the same question again, three years from now

Anyone that has ever been on a cruise knows if you ask the cruise line they will deliver distilled water to your room.

If it were me, I would use one of the water bottles the cruise line has available to take some distilled water with me for any land excursions.

HAPPY CRUISING

Oh I think I copied that pic

No more discussion is needed.
Question asked and answered sufficiently and anything else is piling on or just crap.
