CO2 issues with P10 resolved?

Post by zoomzoom » Fri Jul 24, 2020 3:59 pm

A while back, I recall a long thread that was filled with posts from a doctor (?) or the like, indicating issues with the P10 mask regarding elevated levels of Co2 or something.

I can't remember if it was Co2, but there was some issue regarding the P10 not being the best mask for some gas/respiratory/exhalation reason.

This post was probably in the past 1-2 years. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Was that issue with the P10 resolved? It's why I went with the Brevida instead of the P10 as I had just started my CPAP journey at that time.

I think the resolve was, in reality there was no REAL problem that needed to be resolved other that normal vent cleaning like most masks. Jim

Good to hear! Which part exactly needed to be cleaned? Vents? I don't have the P10 in front of me, but I don't recall any? It has been a while since I've messed around with one, though

The vent holes some times get clogged with moisture. Recommended method of cleaning is with a tooth brush or a water pic if you have one.

I don't have one either, I don't have a need to try every new product in the world, unless my old known reliable product is no longer sold. Jim

The vent holes are multiple small holes on both sides of where the hose attaches to the plastic part the nasal pillow clips in to.
There's a whole bunch of them on both sides. They are tiny though but for most people more than enough air movement happens and I use the P10 for over 4 years and never had the holes clog up or anything like that. Never had a problem with feeling like there was a problem with carbon dioxide or suffocating or air moving .

Water pic is effective, but messy.
Best to do it fresh out of the shower--nekkid, ya know.
